How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I was able to store my bike and also my luggage before I checked in. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great roof terrace.

6bed mix dorm is big, but 8bed women dorm is bit tight

Towels not included but for rent - something I really dislike! The beds were loud, you could hear some clanking noise every time you moved or turned. Unfortunately I had some very inconsiderate people in the room which is obviously not the hostel's fault. Turning on the light at 1 a.m., starting to pack every piece of clothing in plastic bags at 4 a.m. If you just want one night of quiet sleep I'd probably stay somewhere else but if you want to be in the middle of the next pub crawl or whatever - this is the place to be! :)
Location is good, very central. Receptionists are friendly. The rooms were clean. There are huge drawers for your luggage. And direct USB ports for charging your devices next to the bed and a net to store some small things. Great for people who want to party and meet people, there's also a WhatsApp-group.

The surrounding properties looked rundown which affected the image of the establishment.
It was clouds to the cathedral. We were starting The Camino.

I didn't like how the cleaners just burst in the room without knocking. I was alone in the room and was talking on the phone with my family and I got surprised because they just busted in the room and started to strip other bunk beds immediately. They were wearing shoes too when they went up to strip one of the bunk beds which means they made the mattress dirty and just covered it with new bed sheets.
I love that there was a all female room and that the bed was comfortable too. There's a kitchen you can use and fridge to put your food. Friendly staff, great location and plus they have their own bar that isn't too loud too.

'Private bathroom' actually means there are sinks and toilet/shower cubicles in the bedroom itself, so if someone needs the toilet during the night there's a good chance it'll wake you up.
Great location, late check in is very useful and the rooms are bright, large and comfortable

There are 3 parts of this facility, i couldn't find the main building easily, and you should put more signs outside. The room was a bit small, so 3 people could not move around freely at the same time. Also, when you lie down to bed, if someone is moving, the floorboards below would shake, and you can feel almost everything through your metal bed. The room was included with 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets and there are 3 sinks inside the room. The flush was old and dripping a lot of water (not good for the environment) and making a lot of weird sounds. Also, one of the fridges is not closing properly.
It was a great hostel for its price. Clean, close to the porto cathedral and the Louis Bridge. The location is excellent. There is a metro station nearby. You can put your middle sized luggage under bed and lock it. It is pretty good. Also, there was a balcony overlooking the garden. The people who were working there were pretty nice and kind, answered a lot of questions without being angry.

I lived in this hostel for a total of 10 nights. I liked everything. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, shower and toilet right in the room. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking.

Not paper toilet, bathrooms is wet and with a lot water. The bathroom is inside of the bedroom

Maybe because it’s off the tourist season, not too many people, so the vibe in the public area is a little bit off but I’m sure it was good during the season!
First of all the room (I booked girls room) is really clean and the acception is very nice, easy to found and in the center so super convenient
