We liked everything. Some people, who sleep lightly might be sensitive to church bells (you can hear them regularly). Also the attic bedroom and the main floor are not separated, so you hear each other in the night :D might be problem for some

When only we arrived, I was thinking - "gosh, I have given 10 points on booking for places far less special than this. What should I give them - 12, 20 or what?". It is really a very special, cozy, well-kept and loved place. We were visiting out of season, so it seems ours was the only occupied cottage. Such serenity, peace, fresh air. The territory is spacious, our cottage was so nicely equipped, nicely smelling. Each detail is well planned and taken care of. Breakfast is great, coffee (and coffee machine) is nice. All the people working here - super friendly and warm. We also lit fire in the fireplace each evening - that's so cozy & great. Also there’s a lot of prepared information about the area (where to eat, what to see) in the room. Most of it in EN, which is very practical for someone visiting region for the first time (such as ourselves). It’s one of those places where you want to come back.

Everything! The place is idyllic and beautiful, perfect for switching off. The staff were beyond helpful and always trying to make sure our expectations and requests were addressed and surpassed. The house had all the facilities to warrant the cosiest of stays. Perfect breakfast.

It's my second time at Chão do Rio and hopefully not the last. The place is beautiful, very well kept and clean. The houses are super cozy and confortable. Very simple, but with everything you need. The staff is incredibly nice and friendly. And the breakfast is just DELICIOUS with lots of fresh local products. Added bonus: Luar the donkey and Mel & Amora the sheep

from the size of the bath towels, the smell of the soap, the outstanding cleanliness, to the kindness, the smile, and the industriousness of all of Katrina's employees; every little thing was of the highest quality. we were given a generous breakfast made up of local ingredients and goods. we supplemented the meal with tomatoes, cabbage, zucchini, and parsley we picked from their garden. on a quiet night, we could hear the gentle chirping of crickets outside and see tons of stars in the sky.

The owner and staff have created a distinguished place and atmosphere at Chão do Rio! It’s a long time I haven’t seen places with such well-thought-out details. So cozy and charming, the ladies are so welcome. You feel like at home. Special thanks goes to the breakfast basket - it’s unbelievable, all products are fresh and delicious and there’s plenty of them. The area is beautiful with various nice elements like garden, animals, pergolas, swings and benches with a view. We wish to come back at different seasons to see this beauty again.

Absolutely nothing. This is an excellent place if you want to relax.

Everything was perfect! Starting with all clear communication before the check-in from the owner. The staff is very polite and very helpful at all times. The breakfast basket is a really nice touch with high-quality regional products that are a delight. The houses are nicely decorated, with eco-friendly in mind in all aspects. Our children loved having bicycles available to ride, the playground, the donkey, the frogs in the pool - it was all great for them. The location is also very convenient, about 20 min from Seia with nice restaurants and supermarkets. About 1h from Serra da Estrela. We will visit again.

It’s a great country retreat up in the mountains, an hours drive or so from Lisbon very beautiful pastoral setting. Breakfast in the basket was a cornucopia of goodies!

TV set at the apartment could be larger and in a better position for viewing. Sofa at the TV area could be more comfortable. It would be beneficial to have more cloth hangers in the wardrobe.

Breakfast is wonderful with daily refill of the most consumed items. The staff is very nice and affable, always available. Service's information complete and clear. Craftsmanship products available in the reception are very good and inovative.
