Mold in the bathroom and lack of hygine in general.

-No english or Portuguese spoken!!!! Only Nepali. -No room for the luggage in case of a late flight U have to leave it in the kitchen, and due to the customers around (nepali, morrocan and others who live there permantly) u are asked not to leave any valuables -Zero mainentenace. The bathroom/shower very dirty and poorly maintained, amd you have to cross the kitchen to reach the bathroom. -permament stink of curry due to the people cooking -no cooking after 10.pm. but at 1.30 am an arab guy who doesnt give a damn was cooking! And making the proper noises. -No reception and you have to call (hopefully you have a cellphone with a portuguese simcard) to be opened and checked in.

The windows let all the street noises come in. Kitchen and bathroom are dirty enough to have some unwanted insects. We have to play with the keys to be able to open all the doors, from the one of the building to the ones of the hostel.

The room was clean and close to the very centre of the city.

Since the kitchen is shared and the smell of other people cooking with spicy food make me feel sick and dizzy and entered in my room. I felt more sick that going to the bathroom passing through the kitchen was not coinvent for me. Check out after 2 hours and booked another hotel.

The bathrooms are disgusting, full of mold and the doors are broken. One of those doors is transparent (like a shower door, kinda blurry but you can see shapes through it) and you need to walk past it to get to the main bathroom with the shower. The water smells like rotting egg and there are insects crawling in the kitchen cabinets. all the locks are super hard to open (you’ve gotta wiggle the key around for 5 minutes and there are 3 doors to unlock) and there was no window in the room. We can hear EVERYTHING, from the people in the corridor to the ones outside the hostel (in the building staircase). they gave us the smallest little white towels and they were stained. Also you’ve got to pays a city tax of 2€ per person/per day and it’s kind of a hidden fee on booking.

location was good, close to a metro and nice restaurants around. The bed was relatively comfortable and the room was clean. the wifi works really well and there’s good water pressure. the AC works wonders.

There's a lot to write about: 1. You won't have anywhere to put your things because there is mold in the cupboards under the bed, and there are no shelves with locks, so if you have something valuable you have to carry it around and sleep with it in bed. 2. My room was cold 24x7 because the cold comes through those old doors to the balcony and it's easy to get sick if you don't sleep in warm clothes. 3. The kitchen is a separate story if you suddenly decide to go into the kitchen at 1 am you will meet a large group of cockroaches, and if you open the fridge they will invite you in for a feast) 4. The bathroom is just old and not clean. And so I have not mentioned yet that if someone walks somewhere you all hear, and without headphones with noise isolation, you will not sleep + it is a rather usual situation when someone starts a family squabble behind a wall and there even earphones do not help)

liked the location, it was close to my place of study, so I liked the location.

No windows in the room, paper thin walls - you can hear every word your neighbors say as well as people walking on the stairs, kitchen super dirty (lots of cockroaches, wouldn't risk cooking there), bathroom not great- no place for your belongings

Someone entered my room while i was not there and I had locked it up before leaving. Nothing was missing, but I found it rude and disrespectfull to rent a room and to violate my personal space.

The toilets had little privacy and didnt inspire a lot of trust cleanliness-wise. In the bedroom that was supposed to be soundproof as it said on the booking page, you could hear everything, from people in the apartment to people going up and down the stairs of the building, which made nighttime harder.

The room was comfortable and had air conditioning.

Very good location near Anjos metro station-good connection with the airport. Also night bus no 208 to the airport is just few meter from the hostel. I spent here only few hours during night transiting to Azores so I can not tell more details about the hostel. Very good price.

Noise was a major issue. 1. locals in the kitchen all day talking loud this would not be so bad if they closed the kitchen door. (11pm and 7.30am the door should definately not be closed) 2. Slamming of doors. 1 room was really bad for this, possibly where the owners slept? 3. Noise from the street cant be helped but be aware it is on a main road with frequent ambulance sirens. There are 2 toilets, 1 had a slide through plastic/glass door. Privacy is not great. Maybe some dark paint would solve this. I had a knock on my door at 10.45am to tell me Checkout was 11am. This I already knew but my booking.com said checkout was 11-11:30am. This needs to be corrected. These issues are generally easily rectified and I think would lead to much better reviews.

Confortable bed, however no towel was provided as per the photos. I was thankfull for being allowed to check in early and also for allowing me to take my bike into the room.

The room was clean but had no windows. Toilets are dirty. There was a shared bathroom and toilet, but it was hardly possible to use it.

The shared bathroom could not be locked and also the lock on my room did not work from the outside, and I felt super uncomfortable leaving my stuff in the room unattended, and also not feeling comfortable to go shower if I can't lock myself in there. The room itself was nice and the premises were okay, but I would not recommend for solo female travellers.

The room was newly furnished and clean and the bed was very comfortable.

This place is not really clean with some bad smell in the kitchen. Bathroom was ok, not dirty but not clean enough as well. The room was fine if you plan to do a lot of sightseeing and only treat it as a place to sleep. We had a nice balcony with Main Street view (cars were a little bit noisy but nothing too uncomfortable). Staff were a big letdown - don’t trust 24h check-in that they advertise on booking.com. There was no way to contact them despite numerous tries and we had to wait from 9am till 11am to check in when we arrived. Overall a decent place with localization being it’s best feature.

Charming Episode is set in a really good location, a walking distance from the city center and close to the city’a best attractions.

Please don't stay here. Its so tiny and there isn't even a receptionist to check you in! I think they didn't know I had a reservarion. When I sent a message to see if my check in was completed,no answer... No information provided, no towels provided. The kitchen was dirty and always with people. Can't even talk about the bathroom, there is no privacy at all. So much noise during the night, slamming doors, people talking!! The window on my room didn't not even close, so noise from the street as well. I could not rest here at all or even use the bathroom properly!!
