How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Large group of people drinking outside hotel and in reception area. Uncomfortable bed. Adequate breakfast. Had to get bus into centre.

The rooms are clean but dated. The hotel is far outside of the Braga historical center. It was a last minute booking for me during a festival weekend, so I was happy to get a room.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. I arrived early and they held my bag for me. Later they helped me with Uber when my first driver didn't come. The full breakfast buffet was a nice surprise.

The hot breakfast , was minimal egg and bacon and had gone cold by 9am. Decor was rather dark and dull and and in need of a refit. Stair and hall carpets long due replacement.
Friendly and helpful staff. Room facilities were perfect for our stay. Clean and tidy with comfortable beds.

Room good but no coffee/tea provided. Unfortunately the drone of the hotel air conditioning meant it was noisy in the evening/night, when everything had quietened down. Breakfast good. Bed okay but mattrass could have been firmer.

Wi-Fi didn’t work constantly, heating and ventilation a tiny bit too noisy.
Nice breakfast buffet, a good mix of fresh components like cucumber/fruit and bread/pastries. Clean room, room temperature okay. Stuff quite helpful, replacing a broken light bulb instantly and providing an extra layer of blankets (our stay took place at the end of February). Free Parking in front of the hotel.

Very basic place. Wouldn't stay there again. No food. No drinks. At least it was clean. No sheets for blankets, no drink water in the room. Just average, very average.

Nearly no vegetables available during breakfast.
The staff is very friendly, the rooms are cleaned very precisely from day to day. Parking is easy at the hotel, and the breakfast totally worth the price with fresh bakeries and fruits.

Wallmount TV in front of the bed narrows down the free space in the room. I bumped into the TV several times.
Very nice, friendly and helpfull staff. Tidinness and daily cleaning is exceptionally profound!

The beds are not comfortable. In addition, I believe that the hotel should consider changing the pillows. The comforter had an odor like linens not dried well enough, thus a little sour smell. The floors on the common areas like the parts not covered by carpets are dirty. Another factor that I think management should look into is to train the younger receptionists on how to better communicate with guests. I once asked for toilet paper and the young receptionist asked me whether I was going to take it myself or if they should bring it to the room. In my many years of traveling and staying in hotels, that was the first time I was asked whether I should take the toilet paper myself.
The more senior staff member in reception is a charming lady who would offer assistance without the guest asking for it. Two cases which demonstrated her willingness to help: She offered to help with the luggage by accompanying us to the lift and even lifting the luggage up on a flight of four steps as that was how rooms on the second floor could be accessed. She also pointed out where to park so that in case it rains, we won’t get drenched as we load our baggage in the compartment upon check out. She has a pleasant yet professional attitude towards her job.
