Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesA lot more could be done with the hotel, in my opinion- but having said that I would certainly go back!
It is a smaller hotel, and the setting within the quiet gardens is lovely. A few steps from busy Lisbon streets and you are in a shady private park.

United KingdomService very slow at reception. Bathroom was in the bedroom which wasn't good and they couldn't guarantee twin beds which was non negotiable. Fortunately it was OK in the end.

United StatesRoom was small with two small beds. Bathroom tile and crevices needed a deep cleaning. The tub was too high trying to step in and out off to get a shower. Lobby area wasn’t as pictured and very small. Overall needed some updates.

FranceI ask to fix the fridge in the room but nothing had been done... I wanted to enjoy a cocktail at the bar but the one at the restaurant was closed at night. So the one behind the welcome desk had been offered. Very limited choices (canned soda, wine and beer)... Kind of disappointed for a 4 star hotel... Quite far from the city center but close to a metro station.
Great breakfast but nothing Portuguese unfortunately. Great service overall. The room is spacious and very nice. The bed is comfortable.

GermanyThe hotel room was clean. However, there was a bit of mold in the shower cabin and in general the bathroom looked very used and was not up to the standard that we expected.
The location is top. The hotel is in a quiet area where a lot of locals live and not so many tourists. The staff was also very nice and accommodating.

United StatesThe picture I saw when I booked made it looked like the property was surrounded by green grass and such. The front of the building is on a street surrounded by homes and apartments -- a bit crowded. Not what I expected. There was some greenery in the back of the building. A small nit but a surprise.
This property was a previous engineering school and was turned into a boutique hotel. Very creative use of the original space and then modifications for a hotel. The room was comfortable. The staff was helpful. The breakfast provided had a lot of variety and well presented.

United KingdomThe staff at this hotel really made it a great stay - everyone was polite an accommodating, and went above and beyond with trying to help us. David and Veronica were especially helpful. I requested a double bed but was given two singles due to availability, but they accommodated us by adjusting the layout and sheets in the room to simulate a double. The layout of the single room was interesting as the shower and toilet rooms both stepped directly out into the main bedroom, so I'd recommend only staying in that room if you are quite close to those you are staying with. The breakfast was lovely. The location was good, but it is at the very top of a few steps and a steep hill, but also close to transport links so there are various ways of getting back.

United KingdomRelatively easy to get to, although I did get an Uber from the airport when I arrived. There's a metro just down the road though, so easy to get back. If you don't mind Lisbons hill's the hotel is only a 20 - 30 minute walk to the downtown district for bar's, restaurants etc.

PortugalThe decor was a bit impersonal modern, with school themed carpet and bright green touches. The garage exit was often blocked by a car and made maneuvering very difficult, hotel should request a pin be placed to avoid that from happening. The shower hose length wasn't long enough to raise above my head (1,90m), but water pressure was strong. Could have power sockets in the garage for EVs (upon payment, naturally).
Rooms looked into the interior garden, very quiet. Large room and bathroom. Spacious garage for parking, good diverse breakfast selections, located in a high-end residential neighborhood. simple and fast checkin and out.
