Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe can definitely recommend to stay at the apartment as it ticks all the boxes for a wonderful visit to beautiful Porto. Not only is the apartment in its details well thought out and you won't miss anything but it is also the hosts‘ hospitality and their love and care for this beautiful house that tops it all. Bonfim area has a charme of its own. Beautiful houses and big old trees give it a calm atmosphere which is what you want after a day out in Porto amongst all the other tourists. And the best thing is that it's only about a 10 to 15 minutes walk to some of the famous sights. There are also little shops and many nice places for breakfast in the area.

PolandIt was a bit dark in the apartament due to the trees on the street but I think that in the middle of the summer it can be actually an advantage of this apartament as it will not be so hot.
The apartament was very pleasent. Pretty close to the subway station (around 400-500 meters). The hosts were also very nice. They gave us some porto, sweets and free bottle of water. The corridor leading to the room looks amazing - the real Portugal look.

GermanyThe insulation to the hallway is a bit weak and we could hear other guests when they arrived at night or left in the morning. But this was a minor issue and we would come back anytime and stay at this place if coming back to Porto
The appartment is in a very quiet area of Porto, with a very good access to public transport and lots of local cafes, bars and restaurants. The city center is in walking distance, which made the stay very convenient as we could walk into town in 10 minutes but escape the busy city center if we were tired of the crowds. The street was very calm. There is a bar downstairs, but to be honest we hardly heard any noise and on the weekend they close early and guests seem to be respectful and did not make any noise on the street. The heating worked well, there were enough towels for our stay and we were welcomed with some little treats, which we enjoyed a lot. Check in was easy and the host was kind and could accommodate our early check-in and late check-out. This is a great place to stay, especially if you plan to stay a bit longer in Porto and want to experience the real Porto, away from the touristic downtown of Porto

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our stay in this apartment and would definitely rebook if we came back to Porto. It had everything we could want, and João was a very hospitable host. The terrace was lovely for eating outside, and the other terrace had a tree with amazing lemons on which we benefited from! The bed sheets were really soft too :)

United KingdomNothing can be done about this, but the apartments are up 2 flights of stairs - no lift. Although it was well and recently decorated, grey is not my favourite colour! I didn't think much of the decor; but that's personal taste. The shower was a little odd, but worked. The loo paper, as everywhere else we stayed, was flimsy and thin and didn't last us four days, so we had to buy more. Oh, and we forgot to tell João that the duvet was too hot, so we improvised a bit.
Almost everything. João is very nice, helpful and informative, and gave us a lovely welcome, including a small decanter of port and some madeleines. Everything we needed was provided, the apartment was comfortable and everything we used worked properly. The stairwell was lined with beautiful blue Portuguese tiles, there were two balconies and a little garden with a barbecue and a lemon tree. Delightful!

United KingdomThe shower could have been more powerful, but that is probably the only negative I can think of. Some hangers to hang up clothes could be welcome but not needed.
Hosts were very accommodating and provided useful guidance to Porto, including a map and pointing out worthwhile places to visit for food and exploring. The room was as expected from the pictures, cosy and well-equipped. The location probably couldn't have been much better, was in a quiet neighbourhood with the centre of Porto just a short walk away.

MalaysiaHeating Facility- One issue we had with the apartment was the size of heater and placement of air-conditioner. There was only one portable heater available and one air-conditioner unit that blows air at the direction of the entrance of the apartment. Kitchen and bathroom area that is facing away from the air-conditioner unit were tad cold, and it was too cold for us during our sleep in the first night stay, probably also due to the foggy and cold weather.
Hospitality - The host met us in person to pass us the keys despite we reached quite late (around 5.30pm) and also showed us literally everything we need to explore the city of Porto! There is a huge panoramic picture of beautiful Porto right on top of the bed and also a detailed map right before you enter the room. We were being shown where to get the best Francescinha, where to get fresh seafood, where to walk around etc. They also prepared us delicious orange madeleines and a bottle of Port Wine - a very warm gesture to welcome us to the stay. Location - Bonfim is a rather slow-paced neighborhood located next to the river bank, and just 15-minutes (walk) away from Porto Cathedral. It is quiet and beautiful especially in the morning with no tourists bustling around. It is also located just 5-minutes (walk) away from the Dom Henrique bridge where you can get marvelous view of Porto. For the brave-hearted, one can even walk down the steep road beneath the Dom Henrique bridge and across the road to get to the most iconic Luis I bridge. Not to mention, there is an Austrian Restaurant just downstairs serving really good food that we enjoyed a lot. Overall, the location is perfect. Facilities - The apartment has complete kitchen facilities that had us cooked two meals - one breakfast and one dinner. Hood, hob, oven etc to kitchen utensils - pots, pans, turner, plates, mugs to basic condiments. They also have washer that let us do our laundry; TV to keep us entertained when we're cozying away at night. At the end of our stay, the host met us up again to bid us farewell.

AustraliaWe enjoyed our stay at daPraca and were sorry that we were only staying one night between tours. Our host was great, organising a transfer from the airport and being there to welcome us and explain the apartment facilities to us. He was in close communication with us and we really appreciate being able to leave our luggage in the apartment. We also loved the welcome port and cakes on arrival. We would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Porto.

United KingdomWe didn't stay long enough to use the BBQ in the garden. Nothing to not-like really. It was perfect!
Joao was a very hospitable, helpful and responsive host. Sparkingly clean, comfortable and well-appointed apartment. Quiet, safe neighbourhood with arty vibe. Short walk from the city centre. Lovely terrace and courtyard garden. Excellent port and homemade muffins as a welcome treat! We also liked Donau the Austrian cafe on the street-level of the same building.

United Statesall was good.
Wonderful. very clean and very comfortable for us. every morning we had coffee on the beautiful deck while we enjoyed the sun. It was obvious that the owners put love and care into the apartment. We also loved that the property was away from the tourists. And our walk to everything was very short and easy. It was very quiet and so nice to walk around. Next door there is an amazing restaurant (Donau) that we enjoyed several times. Up the street a sweet little grocery, also with nice food we could enjoy there. We highly recommend this apartment and would love to come back.

AustraliaNot much, perhaps some instructions for the appliances eg coffee machine or washing machine. It was a bit of guess work.
The location, the layout, the deck, the comfortable bed. It was really quiet, but only a few minutes walk to the main Porto area. Only 3 euros for Uber ride to station. Everything there we needed. Very detailed and stylish fit out. Owner was super helpful and friendly. One of best stays we have ever had. You could park in the street also. Plenty of cupboard space and bathroom very clean and functional.

SwitzerlandIt was very quiet most of the time but at some times there was the sound of the aeration system of the restaurant’s kitchen downstairs that we could hear from the outside.
We really liked the terrace where we had breakfast every morning. We appreciated the interior design very much. And the closeness to the center of town without being in the middle of it.

United KingdomMy only issue with the Apartment was that I could hear music from the coffee shop / restaurant / bar downstairs. I stayed during a public holiday which might explain the slightly louder music (which stopped at midnight).
I had the pleasure of staying in the Apartment with Terrace for 3 nights. The apartment is located in a charming residential area (Bonfim) and is close to all of the sights of Porto (easy walking distance) but far enough away not to feel touristy. The apartment itself is homely, airy and spacious. The master bed was large and comfortable and the terrace is lovely for a quiet evening sipping port and reading a book. João was an excellent host and even picked me up from the metro station which was above and beyond what I expected. If I’m ever back in Porto, this is where I’ll stay.
