Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe check in was a bit confusing. We had to wait for fifteen minutes for the host to arrive and let us in even though we arrived on time. It would have been nicer if we were notified in advance that we should call the host fifteen minutes before arriving so that we would not have to wait outside in the dark with no place to park the car. Also I would have appreciated a kettle in the room but fortunately there was a machine for hot drinks downstairs.
The room and the bed was comfortable, the whole property was very clean and quiet. I really appreciated the hosts providing me with some gluten free breakfast, it was really good! Hosts and staff were friendly. All in all a lovely stay.

An absolutely fantastic place to stay, gorgeous decor, immaculately clean throughout and comfortable beds, in a quiet area only a short, easy walk from the centre, bars and restaurants and all amenities. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and helpful and even went out of their way to give our friend a birthday cake at breakfast when they found out about it! Would definitely recommend and if we come back again it will be our first choice to stay. Would have given a higher score if it was possible!

Everything. Simple, stylish and spotless B&B with great fresh breakfast on a nice terrace. It is only minutes walk from Cascais but its residential location means it is quiet. Good beds, bathrooms, storage, bedroom aircon and electric shutters keep the room dark and cool. And so clean everywhere. Sandra and Marco are quietly lovely and nothing is too much trouble - they got us special milk, extra soft pillows and an extension cable when asked. Try the fresh pastel de natas and home made cake at breakfast. Hot drinks on tap all day Home from home - we felt welcome and relaxed. CASCAIS TIP - use Uber, good value, super-prompt and nice drivers/cars. SINTRA AREA WARNING - skilled pickpockets.

IrelandNothing, it was perfect!
The hotel was perfect! Rooms are clean and have a large balcony to chill out on. The breakfast was a lovely continental every morning where you could sit out on the terrace and enjoy. The place also has a coffee machine and water in the lounge area which you can have at anytime. The town is just a five min walk away. Marco and his wife were the most helpful and nicest hosts- really reccomend a staying here!

United KingdomThere was nothing to dissuade us from staying again. There was some slight noise from the corridors and road outside. The location is a short walk from the centre of Cascais, across a busy road which some people may not like.
The staff were lovely - very welcoming and also accommodating when we needed to leave our bags with them outside of our check in and out times. Everywhere was incredibly clean. Nice products and touches in the rooms (eg Rituals products, separate make up towels). The breakfast was a great bonus with a good selection of different things to suit everyone.

Estoniaproperty resides in the residential area on a city, so the "view" from the window or balcony is just residential buildings. however, that is just stretching, everything was great
amazing location, very helpful host, spacious room with superb cleanness, everything in the walking distance, superb noise isolation and comfort.

It would be easy just to tick the ‘excellent’ boxes and leave it at that but this place was so much more. Room was spacious, spotless and a really comfortable bed. We had a nice balcony overlooking the garden. Continental breakfast was very good and we enjoyed having it in the outdoor space. The property is in a residential area so restful and quiet but 10 minutes from the train and bus stations. We used the train and bus for day trips to Sintra and towns along the coast. No car required for this trip. Everywhere easily accessible with a long coastal walkway to Estoril. We highly recommend.

United KingdomThe only drawback is that you hear the shower and toilet use noise in the other rooms very well. The noise at night is bothersome.
It is a great location, in my opinion, for a balance of quietness and convenience. Even though Cascais train station is a 5-minute walk away and the city center of Cascais is only a 10-minute walk away, I was very happy to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The room was very simple and clean. No problems with showers or toilets. Car Parking also available also very good point even if very near center of City area. Breakfast also very simple but good taste and lineup.
