Staff very rude and very little English . I found the cleaners cloth inside my suitcase when I brought it to reception all they could do was apologise. (BE Careful with your belongings). Pool was shaded, prices for bar / restaurant were a bit pricey. Lift would bounce when stopped. They allow stags to stay which can be very noisy and they don’t do anything about it.

The bathroom in my room had a bit of a foul smell at times and there was a slight blockage in the shower which made the water back up a bit whilst showering. The man at desk in breakfast room was a little moody.

It was clean overall, mostly all staff friendly, the location was lovely.

Housekeeping came late in the day and occasionally arrived after we had gotten back from our day out and we’re getting ready for dinner which meant we missed a few days of linen changes etc.

Excellent location, quick walk to the beach and to the old town. Supermarket right beside for water etc. Sun loungers always available by the pool.

I liked that the complex wasn't too big .Nice pool area well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get taxis. Good location. Accommodation cleaned every day. Compact with balcony and adequate space for 2 adults .It helped that the weather was beautiful.

There is an obvious plumbing issue with the building so much so we requested to be moved from our original room due to the terrible smell. This needs to be addressed and fixed as soon as possible.

Location was ideal, bar food and drinks were a little expensive. Staff were excellent 👍

Our smaller bathroom started giving out an odd smell on like day 3 (I believe it was a issue with the pipes). Staff were very apologetic and they tried to rectify the problem as soon as possible! The smell did remain for a couple of days, but then seemed to go. The only thing that slightly annoyed us one evening, was we were told to turn off our music because they had guests sleeping. It was before we were heading out, so it wasn’t late (around 7pm). We are also guests and should be able to listen to music in our room within reasonable hours.

The property was in a great location, only a 2-3 minute cab (€4), from both old town and new town, about 15 minute walk if you fancy it also. There is a supermarket literally 2 minute walk away, which is ideal. We booked a 2 room apartment, which was clean and very spacious. Rooms were cleaned most days, with towels being replaced every 2 days. Buffet breakfast was good, and the staff were overall very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Emeralds and would stay again if back in Albufeira in the future.

Only minor things that didn’t effect our stay but just worth knowing as a visitor. You have to pay a 20 euro deposit for an iron and there is no ironing board given which can be annoying. The little kitchenette could be better equipped with a cloth etc to clean dishes.

Really clean, affordable and good value for money! The staff are so lovely and really make sure you’re looked after during your stay. The pool area is great, a really nice and calm atmosphere with plenty sun beds and the bar staff really look after you.

I was not impressed by the fact that as soon as the booking became non-refundable (about a day before travelling), I received a message that a EUR 200 deposit would be required per room. This deposit can only be paid in cash, not card (not even debit card) and it meant that I was left with a whole wad of EUR at the end of my trip with (coming from the UK) no reason to spend it, which is an inconvenience. We were told that this is a deposit that they collect on all rooms, but it later became clear that the deposit is at their discretion and based on groups they feel might be rowdy. Given the hen/stag do culture in this part of Portugal, we could understand, but this information should be provided upfront at the time of booking, not after and also they should also have an option to pay by debit card. Also there will always be a risk of offence in relying on "discretion" when considering who might be "rowdy" or not...

The breakfast buffet was varied and had loads of different hot options, which we were happy to see (and even an option to make mimosas!). The rooms were very large which was great and we found everything up to standard. The hotel does tend to get a lot of group stays so just be aware that sometimes there can be noise at night. However the reception is 24/7 and for the most part seemed to be on top of it. It is in a really good location, 3 mins walk to a shopping centre which has restaurants like pizza hut etc. and a further 5 minutes walk from other fast food chains, about 15 minutes walk to the beach closer to old town. I can't say how far walking from the strips as we took taxi but it was a very short ride and very reasonably priced. There is a tour desk at reception as well, although we ended up making the booking online ourselves as we were last minute.

Location was perfect so close to the beach, old town and the strip. Very walkable. Good selection at breakfast. A very relaxing hotel. Fernando at the reception was exceptional. He was so kind, friendly and helpful!

We booked a superior room because it said it would have a view, but we stayed in room 405 and the view was wasn’t as we were expecting. We could only see a tiny section of the pool but non the less it didn’t bother us too much. The pillows were uncomfortable, too big!

We had a fantastic stay at Emeralds Albufeira. We booked a two bed premium apartment and it exceeded expectations, the apartment was huge with plenty of space and rooms for us all. The whole hotel was extremely clean. The hotel staff were great and very friendly. There was a nice atmosphere around pool, while always being able to get a sun lounger at any time of the day. There is an excellent supermarket and shopping center a stones throw away which added to making the stay so nice. The walk to old town is fine, 15-20 minutes. The breakfast was amazing, with a huge range of options that were always fresh. Bar had good selection of drinks, and the hot snacks were good too.

Very warm could top up the water in the lobby very hot while there and often no water in the container. Freshly squeezed orange juice would have been nice for the breakfast.
