The weather wasn't always kind and a large puddle formed in the car park although it soon disappeared. Parking space was a bit cramped. It didn't bother us but latecomers had to be creative. I guess parking wasn't a problem in historic times!

Apparently this has been a tourist destination for many years but the old building has been modernised inside. At least our room, the dining area and the reception area were modern. We didn't use the lift because stairs led directly to our room. The man in charge of the breakfast rates special mention. He was very helpful both at breakfast and helped find other staff when we were leaving. There was a gentle grey cat who supervised the car park. The accommodation was signposted from the town. You drive up into the hills then at the T-junction there was nothing so we asked at the cafe. You turn left at the junction and the right turn for the hotel is shown soon after.

Stayed here two times for 3 Nights in total the stuff was super friendly and the outdoor area more than beautiful, perfect view over the valley of Sao Vicente. We absolutely don’t understand why it’s not rated better. Breakfast was always filled up, the rooms where super clean and we really felt in love with the hotel cat 🐈‍⬛

Careful with parking if you are leaving early in the morning , as the car park is small and you can get blocked in. Luckily for us, the kind night porter moved two cars to allow us exit.

There was this odor of the old building when we got to the room at the end of every day, but I was not that big of a deal, just something we noticed.

there was a problem with closing the door of our room that the stuff could not solve so we had to keep trying to close it many times until it worked. That was annoying and we were not the only room with the issue. Also if you arrive later in the evening there is no room to park your car anymore.

I expected a little bit more for the money, but the stuff was nice. Beds very comfy, nice room. Definitely recommend to have a poncha at the bar, was really good one. Breakfast was great.

Not enough car parking Doors to rooms are really a pain – the door lock beeps and you have to hammer on the door to get it to stop! It was a pity that the hotel restaurant was closed due to staff shortage. I picked this hotel because it had its own restaurant.

Not that handy if you don't have a car as very few buses from Sao Vicente, not many places to eat (though nearby Lavrador restaurant has good food). Vague advice about attractions Eg the Levada Rodriguez was "round the corner" and turned out to be 2.8km uphill... on roads and we were on foot. The bus to the North Coast leaves 10min before the time table displayed in the hotel lobby (from a nearby bus stop), so we missed it and taxi 17 euro for 7km to Seixal .

On the last couple of days we were there a very big group of tourists arrived and there was a very long queue to get coffee in the morning, as only one coffee machine is present.

The staff was really nice and helpful. We even had a packed breakfast made for a day in which we were leaving very early in the morning for hiking to Pico Ruivo. The atmosphere was very relaxed and not only there is a swimmingpool, but also a ping pong table, mini golf and some garden tables and chairs where to sit to read and relax. Beautiful view from our balcony as well and not a single noise overnight, we slept very well there! Breakfast was varied and full of local cakes that I loved.

Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was closed due to temporary personnel problems, but there is a good restaurant in walking distance, and more a short drive away, so this is not a big problem.

The facilities are in need of maintenance, a bit more or a bit less, including the room. It feels like that that would help a lot to meet 4 star label. During our stay there was a smell out of sewage that was particularly strong in our room, which got worse over the day. The staff did try to help with this, with extra cleaning and air and toilet freshener, but it was still a bit unpleasant. Not sure if this can be solved by the hotel or if it is a more general problem of sewage in the area.

The hotel is in an amazing location and staff are all very nice and attentive and try to help with any requests or issues. The semi closed pool is great as you can have a swim even if fresh outside. Breakfast was nice with fresh fruits and enough options to have a good healthy start of the day.

They have shortage of staff which compromise the services available. It wouldn't be a bad idea to increase salaries so they can have more workers and put the restaurant running

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Very welcoming and went above and beyond to help us. They helped us arrange a hire car locally, find restaurants to eat at, and one morning Francisco helped us with a take away breakfast as we were leaving before breakfast opened. The location is very quiet and relaxed. There is a restaurant close by or there are many by the beach 30 mins walk down a steep hill.
