How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Calm, efficient check-in. Comfortable room with a view out to the tree lined street. The window opened to let in fresh air.

We had a standard double bedroom, the carpet had a very strong moulds smell. The toilet brush is disgusting ( room 204).There is no kettle in the room, and I think in a 4 star property it should be provided.
The buildings interior is amazing, lots of glass and light, very spacious rooms, very friendly staff.

The only thing that was disappointing is the pool. I was hoping I could swim a bit after a long Camino walk. If you're excited thinking "pool!" , don't get your hopes too high ::/
It was a wonderful stay, the architecture of the building is realy worth praising, most modern hotels are boring, this one is not! It looks and feels luxurious. Beautiful staircase and night lighting made it look not just modern but kinda futuristic.

In the breakfast room, wear and tear on furniture and equipment. Parking area behind and back side of building a bit unkempt.
Friendly staff and good service, large common areas, plenty of seating. Not far away from City Center, to reach quickly.

The coffee in the room was in sachets that had gone hard as probably been there for a long time and there were paper cups which are not as nice as a proper cup.
The room was lovely . The bed was comfortable,everywhere was clean and looked good

The aircon was not working for the duration of our stay. We had to sleep with our windows wide open with the noise from the traffic.

breakfast was not to the standard and rate of the room and the breakfast room was super hot asked the staff to turn the air conditioning on a couple of times but my request was ignored

The air conditioner was not working. The breakfast in general was good but the 2nd day of our stay it was extra busy and the staff couldn't accommodate everyone properly (both finding sits and food was a bit problematic).
Nice location, clean, good staff, building was quite nice and with a very cool architecture, pool was nice too

Customer service was quite basic with rarely any smiles. Didn’t feel overly welcome. Kitchen staff stood there watching you eat breakfast and had to be reminded to top up breakfast items that had run out. Bed was old and leather peeling off and room smelt like there had been something that had gone off and not cleaned properly. Breakfast didn’t have much range for the price being paid. No coffee or tea in room, no robe or slipper for a hotel of that “standard” I was confused. Overall not a great stay but was grateful it was close to where I was working from.

That the advertised pool has not been available for use for several months and guests were not aware until check in, when we were given a piece of paper. As we had chosen the property because of the pool, it was misleading to continue advertising it and also not to discontinue advertising in the lift. It would have been much better Customer Service to inform guests prior to arrival. Makes the hotel appear as though it wasn't a big deal. Very disappointing service.

the cleaners came at 4 pm and they said they could not come any other time the mattress is a little bit to old and not really comfortable the value for money is not the best, specially for Portugal. They breakfast was not included, they did not offer anything as courtesy as water for example. They don't offer iron or ironing board.
the location is great very convenient and easy access. The the staff is really nice and helpful good parking area

AC too loud even in the lowest setting. Swimming pool and gym permanently closed and it didn't reflect on the price.... toilet papel too harsh for a 4 star hotel. Bathroom cups were made of paper and couldn't hold a toothbrush.
The breakfast. Comfortable bed. Nice view.
