A simple room with a lot of space, a great view and a just perfect breakfast to start your day. The Vila Lusitania is very well located, we could walk to some restaurants and bars. The staff was very friendly and the self check-in was very convenient. The only downside was the lack of parking, but we parked our car in the street and had no problems.

We didn't have a kettle in the room, but the staff provided us with a thermos with hot water for tea.

The accommodation was located a little further from the city center, but it was quiet. There was a sea view. Our room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The staff was very kind and helpful.

We had a quadruple room with few windows and they were doing renovations above us, which caused quite a bit of noise and mess. The double rooms looked nicer.

The terrace was very nice. It had a great view over the ocean. Breakfast was very good and the host was very helpfull. The guesthouse is in a nice neirbourhood with a variety of restaurants and a very good traditional bakery.

It was at times tricky to find parking but that is no fault of the accommodation. There were quite a few ants all over the floor and for some this may be of no issue but for the likes of me it was a bit unsettling.

The room was very clean and had a fan which was a life saver in the heat. The hostess and service in general was exceptional and made our stay that much more enjoyable

The room was a bit outworn. Pillows and mattresses could use a replacement.

As we had a room with the balcony, the view to the city Funchal and the ocean was great. Very nice and friendly staff. We got lots of info about the island, where to go and what to see. Lovely breakfast out on the balcony every morning. (Although the variety could have changed a bit during the week). It wasn’t too crowded since it’is a small guesthouse not big hotel, so it made us feel like home 🙂

The doors are a bit thin, so we could hear some tipsy guests drinking on the terrace.

We chose this place because of its location and price, and it has fulfilled our expectations. The rooms were small and simple, but we didn't need much as we were hiking all the time. The breakfast was quite similar every day but good enough. There's a bus station nearby and a good terrace where we had breakfast. Some items, like a hairdryer, can be requested at the reception.

Very noisy! You can hear everyone speaking outside, I even heard the alarm clock of another room go off. It's not soundproof at all.

The room was clean, pretty far from the city, but still a walkable distance (i think we did it in 25-30 minutes). If you have a car, it was permitted to park on the street, and the lady at the reception informed us there is a parking up the hill (did not have to use it though). Fresh towels, fresh soaps, shower gels etc.

All a little bit ordinary and slightly dated. Bedding looked like it had seen better days.We previously stayed in Funchal old town and much preferred that as it felt more local.

Breakfast was basic. I had a room with see view which was really nice but I woke up a various time with people talking on the terrace (which is right under the balcony). It started at 7.15 am and sometimes later at night. It was also noisy because of construction work that was going on.

We didn't like that it was at the 0 floor, almost everybody was passing near the window and we had to keep them always closed, so that we couldn't get sunlight.

We liked that the location was pretty good, not very far from center.

Unfortunately was a school trip , kids were little loud and arrogant. But everything was well taking care of by the manager Pedro. Kudos to him I called him and he came right away.

Furniture wore down and the room had the smell of damp. The room we received was at the bottom/ground floor with no views.
