How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We had read some comments about the food and we agree that it's a pitty that food at the dinner buffet gets cold quickly.
Location with stunning views on the village and its surroundings. Spacious room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Swimming pool is a plus. Breakfast was plentiful.

The interior was pretty outdated it could use a remodel. Doors were very thin.

Floor creaked so bad we were concerned we would pinch our feet as we walked. Breakfast was average, with the supposed hot dishes cold and not protected from flys.
Property is a little tired and could do with some care. The view of Piadoa from our room was good.

An excellent viewpoint of the village. Rooms are large and comfortable. Door did not lock all the time and we were told by reception that this is a common problem.

What an odd hotel. For (almost) every positive, there was a negative: Room: as a couple, we were allocated a huge family room under the eaves with a huge bathroom with two shower cubicles. But the bathroom was extremely old-fashioned (clingy shower curtain with plastic rings) and it smelt very bad. The first impression was bleach, which it then transpired had been used to mask the smell of smoke. The smoke smell lingered the whole two days we were there, despite leaving the window open wide and spraying perfume around. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were cushions with rough covers. WiFi did not work in the room. Swimming pool: large and clean but with a noisy extraction fan so not very relaxing. Restaurant: great view and breakfast was okay, but the buffet dinner wasn’t. All very basic fare and the hot dishes were all cold. Better options to be found in the village. General: spacious lounge areas with plenty of seating, but some parts of the hotel seem to be in a better state of repair than others. Such a shame. It could be spectacular!

The food in the dining room needs to be kept hotter as it is all buffet style. So a lot of it was cold when you served yourself.
The room and location where great. The staff in the dinning room were very friendly with great service

I have no comments, the whole stay was fine
Hotel located on a slope among the hills overlooking the fasinating stone village Piódão. Breakfast was very abundant and tasty, staff was friendly and helpful. We very much liked the architecture of the facility, referring in style to the buildings of the stone village.

The restaurant closes early (around 9 or 9.30 pm) and there are no restaurants nearby open until late. And the pool also closes at 8pm.
The room was big and the view was amazing!!

The only negative point I give is for the restaurant. Not the staff but the balance of the price versus quality of the food. In my opinion with that price we deserve better quality.
Fantastic staff very professional and very friendly. Great location for rest and enjoy the life at is best. Very comfortable room ,very clean and with a generous size.

We ordered the deluxe mountain view suite and received a standard room on the ground floor with one small windows. It appears that booking.com sold us a room that was not available.

The wifi in the room didn't work.
The location is close to Pidao but one needs a car. The swimming pool is an indoor pool fantastic facilities especially for my husband who swims every day for health reasons.

The whole facility could have done with a good airing out, very stuffy, let some fresh air in occasionally? Whilst the interior is a little tired the price was fairly matched accordingly.
Location, view and great facility for a somewhat remote location. Breakfast was also very good and not a lot of options elsewhere.

Comfortable (communicating) rooms with good beds and great view on Piodao and the surroundings. Excellent wifi. Very friendly staff. Large breakfast buffet and also good food in the restaurant. Nice swimming pool. Games available for the children. Cosy bar. Private parking. Enjoyable walk to town

No kettle in the room for tea and coffee. However, the staff were very accommodating and provided a teapot with hot water.
The location was fantastic, parking facilities for your car and great value for money.
