Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BrazilToilet paper was insufficient and there was no dish soap in the kitchen. Check in and check out processes are faulty. Communication isn't fast. The day before our arrival, we still did not have any details regarding how we would get in to the apartment. I sent a message over a week before that took several days to be replied. We only had details after we landed from our long flight, however, the instructions were to get the keys hidden in a spot on the street - didn't feel very safe. They said we would find additional instructions in the apartment, but there weren't any. We left everything as we were requested, but the host contacted us four whole days after our check out accusing us of not leaving the keys to the apartment and the tourist fee. This left the impression more people have access to the apartment and they do not seem to have much control of it. It disturbed our trip since we have no reason whatsoever to take their place's key.
The location was marvelous. The apartment is great. Lots of light, great structure, extremely comfortable. The days we spent there were very hot, so it was nice to have air conditioning. The private garden is beautiful and pleasant - even though we did not have time enough to enjoy it. We were able to walk to pretty much everywhere and there are many restaurants around.

GermanyWe had an amazing time staying at Lemon House! The location was great (as long as you are happy to walk up a bit of a steep hill to get there ;-). Other than that it was really central with great restaurants nearby! The host was lovely and let us check out late which was much appreciated! The apartment was comfortable and had all the basic amenities.

United KingdomThe hot water in the shower when at maximum is dangerously hot. I was scalded on the first evening before I was able to switch it off. The step coming out of that same shower is also dangerous. Far too high when stopping out from wet surface and no support rail to hold on to. My friends didn't like the number of towels allocated for 4 nights. They had to wash theirs but for me and my wife it wasn't such a big issue.

NetherlandsSecond bedroom has no windows which may be an issue for some people but air con unit is fine as a replacement. The street is on a steep incline and can be dark at night so wouldn’t recommend for older/single travelers. Bedding a bit dirty in places but nothing major.
Great location on quiet street close to the heart of Lisbon. Terrace was perfect for morning coffees and lots of space for 2 people. Two showers/toilets. Really well equipped kitchen inc Nespresso, dishwasher and washing machine as well as full-sized dining table. Amazing views from back of property. Super friendly and helpful team of people to look after you! Try the Pastelaria Foia at top of road for all of the local pastries and great coffee too :)

SlovakiaThe apartment is located in tiny hilly street, so taxi take you to upper street which is about 20 m away. The apartment has a 3 bedrooms, but one is without window. Also both bathrooms are without any window or ventilation system. One of the bathroom close to the living room is very small. Mayara (the host) is very helpful, but she answers within 24 hours, so it's good to be prepare for it. Check-in and check-out is in Laundry (keybox) which is about 6 min away from apartment. It's not so far, but if you travel with big luggage you have to be trained, because you first go down for keys and afterward uphill to the apartment. Laundry is open 7:30-23:30, so if you have a arrive time out of this, it's good to tell it to Mayara. She organized for us the hand over the keys in the apartment and also our early checkout - we put he keys to the postbox in the house. Location is quite, close to many good restaurant, but each walk is start and finish on the hill.
