How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

This property was very comfortable and clean. The view into the square was such a bonus. Not loud either. Location was perfect as well. Would definitely recommend and love to come back!

Even though there is a keypad accessible bag storage room, for those with heightened concerned over bag storage security I would use the individual lockers at the Rossio Metro station at the foot of the building.
The location was superb overlooking Rossio square and the Metro within metres of the hotel entrance. The hotel concept to concentrate on location, bed, room cleanliness and cut out the normal hotel facilities associated with hotel stars that we would rarely use suited us well. The ability to arrive with self check-in, make drinks/buy snacks from a vending machine in a communal area and then venture out for food and explore the old centre is well suited to the location with restaurants everywhere. The beds were comfortable and the room although minimalist had everything we needed. The hotel is very clear in its descriptions of its facilities and stairs to the first floor.

Pillows, lack of work desk, only 1 chair, u have to climb first flight of stairs to reach elevator, lack of cooker and coffee, lack of slippers.

Stairs to the elevator were the only thing we didn't enjoy. Our luggage was heavy and getting up there was tough. Everything else was lovely, the check in process was so easy and the room was very clean and had a beautiful view
Amazing location, such an easy check in process. Loved the accommodations, shower, fridge all very clean. The view from our room of the square was so nice. The key pad and room key access was so simple and easy made for a great check in check out process. Will stay again.

The Wi-Fi was inconsistent. There were a couple of loose floor tiles in the bathroom. We messaged the number on the luggage room door to get the pin code so we could leave our luggage while we explored a bit more and we never received a response. We had to track down some cleaning staff to get the code.
Great location with plenty of attractions and great restaurants within walking distance. The self-checkin was very easy. The room was basic but very comfortable and super affordable. Our room was really well set up with a family room separated from our main bedroom. The windows kept the noise from the busy square down to almost nothing. We were never disturbed.

Minor problems. We arrived early and wanted to leave our suitcases and the luggage room door needed a pin code. We called the phone provided on the door (once) but no one picked up or ever called us back. Luckily another guest had the code so we were able to use the luggage room right away. And one more thing, we bought an expired candy bar from the vending machine, this should be kept in better check.
The hotel is in great location , the room had a good size, was very comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the bathroom window which allows you to watch the tv from the shower, it was a nice touch. The bed was very comfy, we loved it

There was no obvious reception or receptionist when we had a question.
We loved this hotel : the location was excellent and the room was great. It was bright and airy with a comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. We liked being able to make a cup of tea in the common area. We would love to stay here again.

It would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but these are available in the common room and it really isn't a deal breaker.
If you're considering this hotel, then do yourself a favour and just book it. The location couldn't be better and the quality of the room far exceeded my expectations.

See above stairs which I'm pretty sure are not legal. Under EU legislation I'm pretty sure you must make a public building like a hotel building accessible to disabled let alone people with luggage!
Everything was great apart from the stairs from entrance to lifts on 1st floor - no good for solo women travelling with luggage. i was lucky that my friendly taxi driver parked 5- 10 mins walk away at my cost and took my luggage to lift on first floor taking my heavy bag up 25 steep steps which is a big ask as no vehicle access to property or private car park. get a lift installed on ground floor please. If I was disabled I'm sure you must by law provide an accessible lift as it is a public building. The location and facilities otherwise great. Kettle in room please so guests dont need to go down to communal area in dressing gown
