Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Germany- the room was stinky - the street and the planes outside were really loud - the bed had no lath floor and felt like I was falling through any second - the bathroom is covered in mold - no table to eat inside - most furniture was falling apart After that I only took a shower and left this hostel straight away

Bosnia and HerzegovinaWhole bedroom ceiling was covered in mold! Whole bathroom was covered in mold! The smell was discusting!!! This facility is a health hazard. Bed linen wasn’t clean and i found someone’s earring in the bed. The bedroom floor wasn’t vacuumed. There was no host or anyone to talk to. When i send them a message that i’ll be leaving the property earlier because i don’t want to sleep in dirty and moldy bedroom they didn’t even replied. I can 100% say that this was the worst guest house that i ever saw!

PortugalThe listing did not state how many other people the place was shared with. There were many people staying at this place with only one bathroom. The walls are very thin and it was very hard to fall asleep when every door opening and closing made a very loud sound. We had a very bad sleep. Earplugs could have been provided, or at least recommended in the listing.
The bathroom was kept clean. The bed and facilities were decent.

United StatesFor starters we didn't even Get the right pin to even access the facility then we paid for a single room got one for multiple people to share with us. The rooms were freezing the bathroom was disgusting there was still hair in the shower after she was done and the host was rude never cleaned any of the rooms just made the beds then there was no key for our door and they walked in on us both day and at night..and then the last night we found bed bugs.

Ukraine1. There is no any sign that says about the hostel. You have to find the right door same as on the photo here. 2. No air conditioning, no vent, it’s hard to breathe and sleep. 3. Beds are low and uncomfortable 4. Noisy road 5. Only 1 bathroom for the whole guesthouse 7. The house is stinking 8. Value for the money: I paid same price for the awesome hostels in bigger cities. This bed worth no more that 10€, while I paid 26€ I didn’t use the kitchen, I wanted to leave as soon as possible.
