How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We simply loved this place! The location, the facilities, comfy beds, clean bedroom and bathroom, amazing breakfast, great rooftop and superb staff! Highly recommended!

The hotel has many relaxation areas, coffee, tea and drinks are also available in these areas. The hotel has its own charm, we were very comfortable and our 7 year old son had fun exploring the decor.

The location was ideal, centrally placed for walking to many places of interest in the city, to the water's edge and to a huge variety of restaurants. Our room was very comfortable indeed and very well cared for by the staff. Reception staff were approachable and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious, offered a wide variety and set us up for our days of exploring lovely Lisboa. The tea and coffee available in the lounge area was a treat when we came back to the hotel weary from our wanderings. Everything was quiet and calm.

The electrical sockets were right at floor level. You will need to bring slightly long charging cables due to this. If you prefer walking, there is a slight distance (15 minute walk) between the Praça do Comércio and the hotel.
Breakfast was excellent. There was not a huge variety, however it was still very good. The location was perfect right next to a metro stop. You will find good restaurants within a 6 minute walk. highly recommended. The hotel provides refreshments for free throughout the day such as water, coffee and tea. The hotel is beautifully decorated. It has a small restaurant serving light snacks and drinks that opens till 10pm.

Can not mention anything, that we did not like.
Excellent location, major attractions in walkable distance. Beautiful area around. The staff was fantastic there.

I can’t really say there was anything that we didn’t like about the property.
My husband and I liked just about everything - such a comfortable, pleasant place to stay in a great location. Just a little off the beaten track, so not too noisy, great breakfast - peaceful and pretty.

Good location, nice breakfast buffett for tired travelers. We highly appreciated that welcome tea on reception, that was nice, too. All staffs were kind and showed their hospitality. If we visit again, we will happily stay there. Welcome wine was very nice too! (Especially on second visit)

During some of the nights, you could hear other guests opening and closing doors and, one time, even discussing.
It was in a really good location. The aesthetic was very pleasing and the staff was very polite.

Plain carpet in the room is not healthy. Very small bathroom.

Lighting in the corridor was on the dim side.
Breakfast, excellent choice of food in a relaxed atmosphere. Our room had all we needed, twin beds, plenty of storage space. Particularly liked the bed linen, soft fine cotton, god quality. Location was good, in a side street, so no noise from the main busy street. Liked the antique furniture in the Reception and especially in the Bar, included the pictures on the wall. It showed the racehorse connection with the old building and lifestyle.
