Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIts not best neighbourhood of the town I think. At the nearby park so many young non european men who litterally occupie the whole park. It feels unsafe. They smoke canabis and want to sell it to anyone who walks by. Further down the city towards the port same story. I have never experiences such a thing in a civilized country. Within 40 minutes evening walk at least 15 men came to me to ask if I want to buy cocaine or canabis. This is ofcourse not the fault of the Hotel but they should collectively protest against this. There is also no receptionist available in the evening. If you are not very tech savvy it can be be difficult to check in. Because of repairs of the dining area the breakfast was delivered in a bag. No normal place to sit and eat in a hotel room. Way too expensive for what you get.
There is a sink and some basic kitchen utencils. Confortable bed, clean. Nothing annoying at the hotel itsef regarding sidding or sleeping in your room.

PolandRoom was nice, but very much worn out. In one of our rooms there was black fungus under shower, hole in a wall and paint coming off. Due to renovations, we got our breakfast in a dogy bag to the room - hotel should not be selling offers with breakfast if they cannot provide on it. They did cancel next 2 breakfast on our request.
Location is great, only a short walk from main turist area. It was a good value for money choice.

United KingdomThe only thing was the breakfast area is being renovated so breakfast was dropped to your room each day in a bag. Was still okay but once the breakfast area is back open im sure it will be a 10/10
Very close to metro stations so easily accessible, great amenities such as slippers, toothbrush kit, comb etc. really comfy bed, tv with international channels, plenty of storage, big windows that opened for fresh air and nice view, working lift so you dont have to drag luggage upstairs

AustraliaUnfortunately the room we were first put in smelt strongly of mould to the point where it made us start to feel sick and we kept the fan on in the bathroom to help. Then the mould from the bathroom roof started to leak water so we messaged the reception as it was online only (no one in person until 11am the next day). Finally when we explained to them, they moved us to a different room but it wasn’t the best 24hrs to begin with… I appreciate that they moved us but it was extremely difficult to get in touch with them as they don’t have a proper reception. We used the number they gave us but no one was responding so we asked the maids and they said no one would be in until 10:30/11am so we waited in our room until then and then went down to see if the reception people had arrived. We didn’t really receive any apologies for the mould or leaking roof but they did act quickly.. we wouldn’t really stay again but I appreciate the quick response once we discussed it in person.
Location was walking distance to everything but the area can seem a little unsafe at times.. we had an issue with the first 24hrs of checking in but after that we were moved into a room that was clean and spacious in the main part of the room.

United KingdomThe breakfast bag wasn’t worth it; rolls were stale; too much milk, sweet juices and jam/butter etc wasted, plastic cheese & ham! Shame that they had temporarily shut the breakfast bar for renovations; to be fair we were made aware before hand and could have had a refund- I would say decline the temporarily bag until they are up and running; grab a jar coffee/tea and do your own! Perhaps put some bottle water daily in the room. Leave some local marketing information I.e. tourist, buses, maps etc
Location was ideal to get around very easily; close to metro and town centre

TurkeySome cigarette butts were still hidden on the back side of the small cupboard. They were from the previous guests.. I don't know whether the kitchen was under construction; I didn't check the floors. Thus, we received the breakfast bags that the Hotel offered.
In the city centre and near to the metro.

GreeceI wasn't familiar with the particular neighborhood, but I felt a bit uneasy walking alone at night being a solo traveler. It might be completely personal and I can't attest or not to the safety of the neighborhood. Other than that everything was great.
Easy access to the airport and to the city center. Close proximity to underground stations. Smooth check-in process. The room was clean and spacious. Currently undergoing some renovations.

United KingdomNo reception and it was a bit like empty and echoey throughout the hotel. Renovations were ongoing. The bathroom door was a bit wobbly. Without a reception area the entrance felt exposed. The local area became more familiar over time.
Room was spacious. Comfortable bed and sofa. Balcony door was broken but fixed immediately when reception were phoned. The breakfast room was out of action but they provided a breakfast bag. There was a kettle and tea/coffee facilities. The hotel wasn’t too far to get to sights or train station. Supermarket just opposite.

United KingdomIt felt a bit like the hotel had taken my booking then didn't make much effort to have staff. I was told ages after booking that there would be no breakfast after all, then two or three days before arriving that I would check in by entering door codes and accessing a safe, rather than there being any staff around. I wonder if the price should have been lower to reflect the fact I was doing their job for them.
Room was decent size. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom had everything I needed. Very good location for getting to the city squares, easy walking distance from restaurants.

United StatesAfter several emails before arriving they still were messed up on pick up from airport. Traveling with a friend so we had to request again twin beds. Thankfully someone was there to take care of that. Seemed like a lot of miscommunication.
Location was convenient. We had a hot pot, coffee and tea and refrigerator with small amount of dishes. Big sitting area and bedroom. They were redoing their breakfast area but offered abundant food brought to our room. Unfortunately, we had paid the fee but they said we didn't. They did give us one for our first morning.

United KingdomThe ‘double bed’ was two single beds pushed together. The mattresses were not linked meaning that they moved apart. The duvet was not large enough to cover two ppl having to avoid sleeping in the Center of the bed. Not the best night sleep. The sliding door to the bathroom was broken, and did not work smoothly. Meaning that it was not possible to close, which made embarrassing using the toilet
Beautiful room with period features Great sound proofing from busy street outside. Kitchenette with kettle etc
