How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We had no remote for the a/c and the fridge in the room didn't work
Staff were super friendly and greeted us every time we passed reception. Room was clean and spacious and in a great location

Nothing in particular.
Great location for exploring Lisbon.. very friendly staff. The room was cleaned each day. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent..Had buffet breakfast on the first morning and it was good.

Big downside is the noise - you can hear all the noise from above, below, stairs, hallway,... . Another downside is the window on the inside as it makes the room quite dark.

Some details to be improved inside the room. The room was a bit humid. Breakfast ok, but it would be great some veg thinks (like milk). The service restroom (outiside the room) was bad

Wifi connection almost inexistent, maybe it was the location of my room but it was impossible to get connected or use it for almost the entirety of my stay, and even phone reception was bad so I had to count sheep to fall asleep. Quality of sheets, towels, etc - they are very old, ripped in some places or even stained. It felt clean but it's not easy to sleep on a pillow with several black stains on it.
The location is great and the rooms are big enough, there are options of quieter rooms as well but then they are a bit darker and with a damp smell. some of the girls at the reception are very friendly and nice, quite helpful

The hot breakfast could have been a tastier. Fresh eggs and bacon or hash browns would have been welcome we didn’t understand the beans and grey sausage.
The staff was outstanding . The location was great and the room was large and clean.

Some of the lights in my room were out which made my room a little dark.
It was in a great location walking distance to most things a few minutes away. Bosses and trams right outside which is good. My room was also cleaned everyday which was nice.

The room was full of mosquitos. Despite we killed 20+ of them during our stay, we couldn't sleep well. The pillows were very uncomfortable.

The amenities in the hotel are aging, noise insluation poor - street noise was pretty well heard inside. The showerhead holder was missing, so there wasn't any way to mount it on the rail and wash your head as you should. The sheets were clean, but it was hard to keep them on the bed and were constantly slipping off.
Having an elevator was a blessing after a whole day of going up and down in the city. The staff were very nice and friendly, helped us with our requests.

The name 'Suites' implies there is a kitchen and I expected one. No other guest amenities were included or available. As I found out firsthand, violent crime against tourists happens at night in the area
Good location near Praça do Comércio. Comfortable room but no kitchen. Both the Carvinale parade and the later police line squashing the protesters was exciting!

The rooms got very stuffy and warm at night. You couldn’t really open a window due to the noise. AC works but turns itself off automatically. Not ideal. Can’t imagine in summer…

Facilities :shower was broken, no extra towels, rain water was leaking from the window, mosquitos in the room, very thin walls, noise from the streets, noise from the other hotel guests, smell of moist in the bathroom, the fan in the bathroom was not working.

The toilet was a little noisy and kept running. As long as I kept the door closed it was okay. The refrigerator was noisy. I had to get up at 4 in the morning to unplug it.
The room was clean. The bed was spacious and comfortable. The location was excellent. The staff were fabulous.

I just felt the shower floor very slippery! I had to gave extra care. A rubber mat should sort it out.
