The property was in the heart of the old walls, superb location and had everything needed for a short stay. We were not allowed to drive our car inside the walls but the suggested parking was a 4 minute walk from the hotel.

I booked 2 days before and was supposed to get an email with instructions which I never received. I had to remind them on the day of arrival about checking in and finally got a message thru booking. Unfortunately, said email supposedly had instructions about helping ourselves to the complimentary wine in the cooler in the coffee area, so we didn't get to enjoy it. The instructions are better placed in the empty wine bucket in the room. The open bath tub needs a railing and skid-free rugs to make it easier to get in and out, especially for older guests. There was also a weird "problem" about the bottle of water in the room probably already previously opened as the water had a strange, chlorinated taste.

Great location within the city walls on a charming street full of boutiques and restaurants, BUT this central location also makes parking difficult. Stylishly renovated. Very comfortable bed.

Great location within the walls of the castle. Very clean and smelled amazing when we walked in. Comfy bed and pillows. I would recommend leaving your larger luggage in your car and take an overnight bag with what you need for the day. The stairs are difficult to manage larger bags. Parking is outside the walls, but not far. We have found this method very helpful because many of the smaller stays do not have elevators. We will definitely come back!

Sink is next to the bed so if one person is sleeping it's easy to wake up when the other washes their hands. But you know this going in so not a surprise. Would absolutely stay here again.

Location is amazing, communication is amazing, bath is amazing, bed was heaven - most comfortable bed we've had overseas in over a year. Had wine and a bath, so perfect.

Getting in and out of the shower could be quite difficult as you are stepping up out of a tub onto a wood platform with wood steps which were slippery when wet. Because there is no closet, a few more wall hooks for clothing would be helpful.

We loved the location - inside the wall of the old city. We were able to walk everywhere and were close to many shops, restaurants and cafes. The room was spotlessy clean with lovely cotton sheets and bedding. Overall - a fantastic place to stay.

We did not have phones and relied on WiFi for internet. The instructions were sent on the day of arrival while we were on a road, so we parked outside along the road and got in through the side gate, walked with suitcases through half of town to find the door locked with no sign what to do. Luckily the town has free WiFi, so we connected and read the message. It would be better to get instructions the prior night, including which gate to use, where to park, etc. to save time and efforts.

Location is great - next to the main gate, so you can explore the town from end to end. The hotel is funky with interesting adult-oriented twist (to support the name). Don't expect anything explicit - just gently puts you into the romantic mood along with bottle of sparkling included with stay. Room and bed are good enough to crash after busy day. We were the only visitors out of 5 rooms, so not sure about the very possible noise from neighbors after they read their book. There are plenty of eating options literally next door. Parking is available for free within 200-300 m on the main gate end outside the walls. It is quite big, but very busy during the day with many visitors coming. You need to roll suitcases over stone pavement and carry on stairs through the crowd of tourists, but proximity to hotel helps.

Only minor things..Would have preferred for the the tea and coffee to have been free (even though it was only 80 cent) rather than a free bottle of low cost wine. Could have been handy to have some maps/tourist information at property for the nearby area.

Location right in heart of old town. Very quirky, good air conditioning and comfortable bed. Free town parking very close by.

Nothing to dislike

This delightful hotel is located within the Óbidos historic Castle walls and perfectly placed to visit this lovely town. The quirky spacious rooms were clean ,the bed was very comfortable and the bath a pleasure to use after spending a number of nights in hotels with showers only . The town has lots of good restaurants and bars , tourist and craft shops so gets very busy during the day but late afternoon when the tourists leave the town quietens down and becomes yours to savour.

Dont take heavy luggage’s since you’ll have to walk from the parking to the appartement on small rocks.

Cool looking room. Loved the bathtub and they gave us a bottle of wine for free. Comfortable all in all. Great location if you want to stay the night (I suggest you arrive at 3-4 pm and stay the night it’s worth it). There’s good AC.

I loved everything about Lovin Book

Fantastic location inside the walls of this charming medevil city. It's just a short, easy walk from the free public parking lot. The immaculately clean room is beautifully decorated with updated sink, toilet, tub and outlets near the very comfy bed for easy phone charging. The AC kept us cool on the two hot days we were in Obidos . I'm so glad the other place The lonely Planet recommended was booked because this was, by far, a better location, and great value. The welcome bottle of wine left chilling in the fridge was a nice touch.

There was nothing not to like.

Nothing short of a heavenly experience in the heart of Obidos! This was unforgettable! Gorgeous room, lovely tub, quaint bicycle-themed sink, and loved, loved the book theme too! Grateful for the location, the vending machine, the gorgeous bath, the lovely window, and the comfortable bed. A true luxury on this vacation!
