bit hard if you are a remote working couple as there is no where to sit in the room or the property

the staff here are amazing. super friendly. lots of great Porto recs. the cat was flippen adorable. pool was really nice to have in the hot afternoon. bed was lovely.

Loved the service of Alberto as he went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience and gave us lots of recommendations as well as getting us into a top restaurant. The room was centrally located, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to try out the pool, but next time.

I can’t praise the beautiful hotel highly enough. Alberto and his wonderful staff made our trip a truly fantastic one. Before we even arrived the communication was great and made us feel right at home. The hotel is stunning and the pool an absolute sun trap. We cannot wait to return to this hotel as it was one of the best weekends we have all had for a long time. Thank you Alberto and team!

Really nothing at all!

The stay was in a word fantastic. The hosts were super friendly and gave us tips on great adresses we would never have got to otherwise. The Maison was great; the room and the little garden with pool that was perfect for relaxing. The accommodation was 15 minutes' walk from the river but nearby there were more than enough interesting places to have breakfast and dinner. It was also not far from the not so touristy art district so if you are into art and antiques, this is a very nice base.

this is a gem of a property from the moment you walk through the door Susanna fills you with warmth and hospitality… the rooms are very clean and property is beautiful .. nothing is too much trouble so don’t be afraid to ask for advice or help .. I can’t really give 11 out of 10 but we would if we could.

The hosts Susana and Alberto were amazing. They were so welcoming and friendly and made you feel like home. Always helpful and ready to assist you with whatever you needed help with. The room was really cute, nicely decorated and with a lovely view to the garden. The atmosphere and the interior on the hotel was just up my alley. I’m so happy that I found this little gem and if I ever come back to Porto I will definitely stay at Maison Cabral again. My highest recommendations.

This is nitpicky, since I think our room may have been an exception: The glass-enclosed bathroom offered little privacy, when one person was making coffee or going to the door, there was zero privacy on that side. Doubtful anything can be done about that, and we were glad to at least have an en suite room, as some other places we've stayed have not.

The staff was so welcoming and kind. Alberto was exceptionally helpful, coordinating the parking, and providing a map and explaining where to eat and what to see in Porto. He was so enthusiastic we immediately decided we would need an extra night in Porto, and thankfully, he reserved our room for a third night. He went to work on his contacts to set up a Douro Valley wine tour for us on our second day, which was excellent! The room, though small, was nice, the balcony overlooking the pool was a huge plus, and the pool area was very nice, too. The beds and especially the pillows were very comfortable and we slept very well!

Centrally located and easy to walk to good restaurants and downtown area. Our hosts, Susana, Alberto, and Michael were wonderful and so helpful with anything we needed from helping buy tickets to events to finding the best places to eat. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed, private patio in back and nice efficiency kitchen where we were able to enjoy our coffee and snacks. We highly recommend Maison Cabral as the perfect home away from home while in Porto.

This is a boutique hotel in an old, beautifully restored house. As such, there is no elevator so it is necessary to be able to do stairs except for only one ground floor room.

The staff and owner were extremely helpful before and during the stay. The garden was a nice place to relax and the bar area stocked with snacks and beverages was extremely helpful. The location is very handy for getting to/from the airport.

All the other good reviews were true: You will be welcomed with open arms by the always friendly and helping owners Susana, Alberto and Michel, who will instantly make you feel at home away from home. The mansion is a beautifully renovated and tasteful decorated town house with all the amenities you need for a city trip. It even has a pool in the beautiful backyard to relax after long hours of sightseeing. The location is great too, close to a metro that brings you easily to the train stations or airport, and with great restaurants, shops and bars near by. It is close to the all the main attractions too, but away enough to get a glimpse of the non touristic Porto. We can warmly recommend this beautiful place to everyone and surely will come back soon! Thank you Susanna and Alberto for ending our trip on such a sweet note, Tina and Lennard ☀️

Be prepared to walk a lot, in steep streets! Especially to places like Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, and the Dom Luís Bridge.

Staff was great, very helpful and happy. The rooms were nice and comfortable, and hotel is in walking distance to nightlife, restaurants, historic buildings etc.

The folks at Maison Cabral were incredibly friendly and attentive. Susana helped me book dinner reservations - one of the best meals I had on the trip - and an intimate wine tour which was a highlight of the trip as well. The location is great - not too close to the loud touristy areas, and an easy walk to anywhere I wanted to visit. The room is really cute, maintaining the old architecture but with a modern, clean feel. The views of the courtyard with a pool are dreamy. Would definitely stay here again if I came to Porto.

The accommodation was wonderful. The equipment of the apartment was beautiful, modern and cozy. Perfect cleanliness and cleaning every day. I would appreciate the attitude of the owners, who are very friendly. They gave us a lot of useful advice so we could have a perfect stay in Porto.
