Staff very helpful-went out of their way to be would definitely stay there againhelpful. Great location. King size bed. Good local breakfast, could have had a hot dish ie pancakes!

Spacious clean room and good bathroom, however higher than elevator went, so lugging luggage. Central location. Parking nearby at <€5/ day. Breakfast standard. Friendly helpful staff.

The bathroom needed work-the shower didn’t drain well and the door wouldn’t stay closed.

The hotel was in a great location and the beds were super comfy.

There was no heating in the rooms, fortunately it wasn't that cold during our visit but I believe this could be a problem during the Winter months.

It is in very good location, comfortable bed ,good bathroom and A/C. I really enjoyed going on sky lift and exploring the park. If you're going to castle, you have to purchase ticket at the palace.

Towels were not replaced in the days I was in the hotel (4 days). They should replace towels every 2 days, at least.

The location of the Hotel is wonderful. Also the room was very clean and the breakfast is good. I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel Mestre de Avis was a gem of a hotel. It was in the perfect location for access to the medieval centre. The staff were very helpful especially Lillianne who went above and beyond! The breakfast is very substantial. We feel this was an excellent choice for our stay in Guimaraes.

Mold on ceiling of shower looked like black mold, really needs to be repaired, only negative thing about this otherwise awesome place.

Quaint old hotel in centre of old city, clean and comfortable with mid century theme. Bed supper comfortable, room quiet and thoughtful. Buffet breakfast perfect and well priced.

The location is good to visit the old town. A free parking is available at only 7min walk. The room is big with nice view on city old streets.

The breakfast was very poor. We stayed in a different hotel the night before, also a 2 star hotel, and the breakfast was much better there. A bigger selection of juices (at least 5), bakery stuff, different hams, cheeses etc. This hotel had only 1 juice and like no bakery items, only a croissant and some tiny bites. The selection could be much better

The hotel room was nice, we also had a mini balcony. The bathroom was better than I expected, with a mirror for makeup and a hair dryer. A small walk-in closet - we didn't use it as we stayed only 1 night but it was quite spacious. Also we came to the hotel quite early and the lady on the reception said she would keep an eye on our luggage which was nice

it was quite noisy at night. the windows (which were beautiful as we over looked the street with a balcony), didn’t keep the street noise out. Tea and coffee facilities are always a welcome addition.

Check in is very late taking into account that the check out is at 11h. If you re staying for only one night it might be difficult. However, i asked to be able to check in earlier and there was no problem because the rooms were already free.

The hotel is well located, and the staff was very friendly! The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Can hear everything from room above including guest using toilet at night. No fridge but probably wouldnt fit in small room anyway. No tea/coffee makings.

Standard room is not like photos- small (cant fit armchair) plain (no rug) and dark (at back of building) - but thats why it is less expensive. Bed comfortable. There is a service elevator to first floor for disabled guests but you have to ask as it is usually full of laundry baskets- opens in front of room 104. Cheap bakeries nearby for breakfast.

An elevator would have been nice if room on the 3rd floor. But the staff helped with the luggage,so it was not all that bad.
