How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We were met at Reception by a very nice lady but a gruff and abrupt male staff member who came over quite aggressive. Not the front desk I would like if I was hotel director! Hotel has strange layout and we had a long walk to our room until we found a back route via some fire doors!
Bedroom was well equipped. Good location close to Carvoeiro. Breakfast offered plenty of choice. Pool and pool area nice.

Small bath with shower curtains that cling ! Small uncomfortable pillows. No tea and coffee making facilities .
Breakfast was excellent and constantly replenished. Hotel staff are lovely , professional and welcoming . Swimming pool is large and very clean . Good central location . Room very clean . Lovely reception area . Indoor swimming pool a bonus .

The rooms are VERY noisy. The tiled floors make for lots of noise and the walls are paper thin!!

The hair dyer in the room. It did not have power to dry hair. When we called the front desk, they said the hair dryer was already being used by another guest. Investing in proper hair dyers would be appreciated for future guests.
Quick easy check in, clean room, great healthy options for breakfast. Fabulous location.

Bedrooms are a bit dated
Location. - just up the hill from centre of carvoiero. Quiet at night in May. Reception , bar area has been modernised - spacious and clean Good breakfast choice Grounds are lovely. Huge pool Free car parking

Staff did not go out of their way to please and wouldn't handle any "special requests". Had to pay extra for nearly everything including the room safe.
The room was very nice and clean with a large terrace balcony and a great view. Free parking. The shower water pressure was phenomenal like in a Seinfeld episode.

I stayed for one night, the room was quite simple, but I liked the balcony and the bed was comfortable. There’re 2 pools, an outdoor pool which looked very clean and ready to be used, but it was still quite called for me to swim outside in March. But I used the indoor pool, the water was pleasantly warm, unfortunately, the sauna wasn’t working, but there was a jacuzzi too. What really surprised me was the breakfast and the interior of the breakfast room, loved it. The breakfast was very rich and tasty, a many choices for everyone. Plus the staff at the breakfast were the kindest.

Reception customer service wasn't impressive. Told us on the phone when we requested something, "You should not use..... you are not allowed.... I need to ask my manager..." What? Gave us a big lesson. Not happy to start the day there. Why not just say something like, "sorry about that. I will get back to you in few minutes...."

Staff were great, helpful and friendly. Communication was prompt and helpful. Appreciated early checkin and free on site in the open car parking. The included buffet breakfast was ample with plenty of variety. Great location-we were able to walk to watch sunsets over the ocean and a great choice of restaurants and cafes near by within easy walking distance. Thank you to all the team at Mirachoro Carvoeiro.

The reception staff were not very friendly and was not told when checking in we needed to hire a lock for the safe and pay a deposit nor the free WiFi code. The sliding wardrobe doors and also the curtains were really hard to use, the bedside tables had beautiful but large lamps so no room for anything else. The housekeeping staff we encountered were morose and the time for cleaning our room varied from late morning to anytime in the afternoon the latest being after 5pm not ideal when you want an afternoon rest or to get ready for an evening out.
The buffet breakfast was very good and the morning waiting staff efficient, friendly and helpful. The room was adequate and we had a large terrace. The location is perfect very near beach,restaurants and transport.

The sunloungers are not the comfiest to lie on all day and whilst I appreciated the small head contraption providing shade from the sun on my head/face, I don’t think it would provide enough shade for the summer heat of June - August where the UV is a lot higher. If anyone burns easily this could cause you an issue.
Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. In a great location and the breakfast was great for what we wanted. Beds in the rooms extremely comfortable. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We rented a car while in the Algarve and the hotel has a large parking lot that takes the worry out of finding a parking spot. It was one of the determining factors when booking here. The amenities such as the swimming pool with bar are an added bonus for those that would like to catch some sun away from the beach.
