Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaLOVED IT ALL ... wish we had booked in for another day or two!
Amazing little stone casa/suite decorated with taste and thought in every "touch", incredibly comfy bed with lovely linens, peaceful & idyllic setting (very quiet and away from it all 🙏), delicious breakfast, picking our own oranges (and the tastiest we've ever had), the fountain with mountain spring water for drinking, the Old Roman Road / path to the unbelievable village of Monsanto, and lovely hosts. Many thanks to Ingrid & her husband for making us feel so welcome and comfortable. 😊

United Statesvery cold floors, and the bathroom felt a little bit exposed (not very private)
beautiful property with the such nice hosts! fun rooms built around the natural geology of the region. Monsanto was a wonderful experience, and the Quinta de São Pedro de Vir-a-Corça really added to the experience.

United StatesNothing! Everything was perfection!
Everything was amazing! More beautiful than in pictures. The grounds were so beautiful and peaceful Ingrid and her husband made sure we were comfortable at all times. The little bungalow we stayed in was very charming and comfortable. The bed and pillows smelled so nice! Breakfast was amazing with home made breads and jam. Ingrid made us a hot breakfast also. I had a massage in the little stone house on the property and it was amazing. A must do while you’re there. We will also be back!!!

CanadaCan’t say enough good things about this place! Beautiful property with gardens, right next to the old Roman road to Monsanto. Our host, Ingrid, was super welcoming, friendly and helpful, and put together an amazing homemade breakfast spread each morning. The rooms were all in separate little buildings, so it has a very friendly B&B vibe while still feeling very private. As soon as we drove in the lane way I knew we needed to book a second night. If you like hiking this is the perfect place to stay as it connects to a network of trails around the mountain and old village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I hope to come back someday, this place was really magical!

United StatesEverything was wonderful.
This was a true find. Although at the foot of the hill from Monsanto, there was a pathway (the old Roman Road) to walk through cork trees up to town. Restaurant choices were limited in town, so we brought charcuterie with us. The proprietor supplied plates, cutting board, wine glasses and we had a lovely dinner and sunset on the terrace with the dogs and cats living on the terrace. We had a wonderful breakfast of fruits from the property eith breads and homemade jam. Yum. We felt at home and well taken care of.

AustraliaNothing- it was perfect!
This is the most amazing little property, with gorgeous grounds filled with olive and citrus trees, charming stone buildings and so very quiet, peaceful and tranquil! The properties caretakers were awesome- so very friendly with great suggestions for walks, places to have dinner, and local information. Especially cute little welcoming committee of the properties several cats and dogs was very much appreciated. We unfortunately had an early departure the next day but were provided with a lovely little breakfast pack. Highly recommended, and would love to stay here again!

United StatesThe one downside is the bathroom is very small and I found it difficult to navigate. Not a big deal for a short stay, but could be an issue for a longer trip.
Absolutely loved our stay here. The room was very comfortable and the property is beautiful. Short drive or a hike up to Monsanto. Breakfast was lovely, and mostly sourced from the property. Ingrid was so helpful with recommendations, directions, and even helped us make dinner reservations. I highly recommend this property.

CanadaNothing could have been better except staying longer. We were here two nights.
A little piece of paradise outside of Monsanto! A beautiful little quinta with lovely gardens and accommodations. Our loft bedroom had a skylight where we laid watching the stars. The hosts, Ingrid and her partner, were so kind and accommodating. Couldn't have asked for better hosts. Clean, modern and an excellent breakfast. There is a trail through the countryside where you can walk to Monsanto - about 20 minutes - and it's a lovely walk. Highly recommend!!

CanadaNothing in particular
It was quite an intriguing experience staying at this private house-turned-hotel. Despite the challenges in reaching the remote location in Portugal, the journey itself felt like an adventurous expedition. The property boasts a stunning garden with picturesque views. If you're looking for a unique and unconventional accommodation experience that goes beyond the typical city hotel, I highly recommend staying at this charming establishment.

CanadaI wished I had more time to stay!
The breakfast was delicious. The house keepers, Ingrid and Thorsten were wonderful! They made my stay extra special and although it was quick, I will always remember my stay here. Monsanto is a beautiful little town, a lovely walk away from the house. I can't wait to come back and spend more time walking the charming streets. Keep driving past the church when you arrive, you're almost there!

ItalyVery nice place, surrounded by nature: the perfect place to relax in the shade of the trees overlooking the orchard. Actually one could spend there days without realising time passing by and without feeling the need to go away. The hosts were super kind and helpful. Breakfast was very very good, with local products, homemade bread and fruit from the orchard. I would have had dinner there too (considering that Monsanto doesn't offer anything good), but there's no such service. Everything else was perfect.
