Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicWe booked this Quinta while we was on a fishermans trail with our little son a and wanted 3days off. It was the best decision, we would stay here much longer. This farm is near to the lighthouse, just next to the fishermans trail. You are staying just next to horse boxes. They have really nice dog and cat. We didnt use the swimming pool but it looks also really nice. They serve such a good breakfast from local food, cheese, fruit marmelade, fresh warm bread. At the reception you can buy local products including wine, beer, yougurts, cheese, marmelade or soap. It was the best accommodation we had during our stay in Portugal.

United StatesRemoteness also means no restaurants nearby. The one place in town is just ok. Unable to ride horses during our stay even for 1 hour due to bookings months in advance. :(
Remoteness, proximity to wild coastline

NetherlandsThe living room is tiny, but with good weather there is more than enough to enjoy outside!
The location is awesome, very good to go hiking/cycling in the region or go to the nearby beaches. The houses are super cute and very well equipped! We were very well received and we loved it, and breakfast was also amazing:-)

PortugalI liked that it was cozy and comfortable, but the porch lights did shine in to the living room at night, making it difficult for our friend to sleep there. However he found the couch bed very comfortable. Also a map illustrating how to hike to the nearby Cabo and lighthouse would be great.
Beautiful, peaceful, birdsong, horses sighing, you can see stars at night…the breakfast was delicious.

GermanyThe kitchen equipment is a little bit too basic for my taste (for example no sharp knives, small plates), the bathroom feels a little bit cold. Though - I would book it again. Definitely.
Outstanding location, at night you can hear the horses on the pastures snorting and the ocean roaring. (it is a 10-minute-walk to the beautiful coastside). In the morning the roosters crowing. It lies about halfway the Fisherman´s trail section between Almograve and Zambujeira do Mar, so you can take a walk along the coastside about 2 hours to the really nice restaurant O Sacas near Zambujera or a walk towards Almograve. The farm is specialised on "Natural Horsemanship" (as I understood it as a layman, it is the natural way to treat horses species-appropriate/fair, get to know their behaviour better and also learn something about yourself) and I got spontaneously a introduction in this method by the riding instructor Anna, who does also short guided horse tours for beginners at the seaside. The lodgings have a nice terrace with a view on the wide pastures, the beds are comfi, there`s a fireplace in the house and you can order a breakfast basket for 5 Euros. Parking is easy. I was very happy wih my choice!

RomaniaThe facilities in the house are a little old. The bathroom was not spotlessly clean and it smelled a little bit of mould. Be prepared to cater for yourself with some basics like dish detergent etc. The conditions were what you would expect on a farm stay. We really, really missed having breakfast. We arrived on Easter and it was really difficult to get something to eat on Sunday morning. Cavaleiro, the closest village 1 km away, is very small and you cannot buy anything there. We would have greatly appreciated if the property provided at least some basic breakfast.
The location is exceptional from the nature point of view. It is quiet countryside, lots of ground around, it offers a lot of privacy. The houses are beautifully decorated in the traditional style with lots of flowers on the outside. In 15 minutes on foot you reach the seaside and the beaches are spectacular and wild. It is a good base to explore the Atlantic side of Alentejo with its traditional villages and dramatic coast. Most restaurants are 15-20 mins drive away. Do not expect holiday resorts around because there are none. You can run on the Rota Vicentina both ways, it is very close. And of course the horses. There are actually only 5 available for riding and lots of people are interested so be sure to menton in advance that you are interested in horseback riding. They were able to accomodate us with two short rides (1 hr) which is really all we could ave hoped for given that we did not give much advance notice and that we were not experienced riders. The trails take you to the nature park on the coast and also up on the cliffs overlooking the sea, it is an once in a lifetime experience. Anna, the instructor, is very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful location and our apartment had all that we needed for our short stay. We enjoyed sinking into the luxurious bed at the end of each day. Sara was also very reachable if we had any questions/issues.
