Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe shower isn't very powerful, I couldn't wash my hair all week due to poor pressure, it also got cool very quickly. The freezer door is broken and is hanging off and the toilet flush button is missing - both quick and easy fixes. Take your own toiletries. Not a complaint but a full length broom would be great. The lift area is tiny - fine for me but I would say 2 people max in the lift and it's a little scary the first time!
Situated under 10 mins walk uphill from the numerous beaches, shops, bars, restaurants & bus station in a residential block of apartments. The flat is very light, bright and spacious with all modern facilities. Has a double bed, a small sofa bed, a desk, cable tv, a kitchenette, huge wardrobe and mirror, loads of sockets, great bathroom, lovely terrace that gets the sun from sun rise till after 2pm and a secret back room with a double bed in! The host and the guy who met me at the location and showed me around the flat are brilliant!! both very friendly, professional and quick to respond to any queries. I checked in 4 hrs early, no probs at all!

Ukraine- Awful smell from the bathroom, which spread on whole apartment even with closed door. There is no ventilation in bathroom. - frying pan was old and it wasn’t possible to cook anything using it. - in working days it is very loud outside because of close distance to school. - no washing powder for laundry, no salt / oil / etc
We like the location, it is approximately 600m to the beach. Also we don’t have any problem with Wi-Fi

United KingdomNothing! It was great.
Perfect location for beach and bus station only 5 mins walk. Everything I could possibly need in the apartment. The hosts were so helpful when I arrived late and also checked half way through my stay that all was ok. So quiet and restful there. I would definitely stay again.

United StatesWhen we were directed to the actual building, I thought we were being scammed. It was so rundown, I thought I was going to actually vomit. The apartment is in what I would call a local neighborhood. -APT. is located atop a steep hill. The town is at the bottom. What there is of the town to enjoy we either found out on our own or from a lovely restauranteur who befriended us. - Elena/"Juan" who claims to be the owner, of the APT. had no recommendations for us at all. -When we arrived we were directed to press the elevator button for the fifth floor it only goes to five, but we still had two flights of stairs to climb. This needs mentioning, especially if someone is older or has mobility issues. -The apartment has a mold issue in the bathroom that both Elena/Juan know about. They told us not to use the A/C, to keep the sliders open, to open the back window (little window) and Juan told me to put dishwashing liquid down the drain every few days and to keep a damp rag over it. We certainly would not have rented if we knew about this. It did not work, and we had to buy a vinegar-based floor cleaner to ensure there was no smell as our APT was a studio. -I had the only piece of real jewelry I own, it was my deceased mother's diamond band stolen. I suggested to Elena that she get a safe. I also have a CZ watch. This went missing and at the end of the day, when we returned, it was on my nightstand. The entire incident was bizarre and led me to inform Elena about the thefts. I suggested she get a safe for guests. -There is not enough hot water in the evening or first thing early in the morning or in the evening for two people to take showers one after the other. -If you are not familiar with an induction cooktop it, requires directions that I suggested be posted. -This host has absolutely no recommendations whatsoever and will not take any recommendations from her guests.
We arrived early. The cab driver had difficulty finding the property. It was not well marked. I called the contact person Elena to confirm we were in the right place. I told her we were going to just sit and wait until 4:00 PM. Elena informed me the apartment was being cleaned. I told her no problem. Elena called back and stated that the cleaning people were finishing and one would come down to get us. Neither of the cleaning people spoke English, but meeting them was one of the highlights of the trip. They were wonderfully kind people. The woman's husband came to assist us with our bags. However, there were many buildings configured in the little area. Booking.com showed a skyline of building from outside. We had no idea which building we would be entering. It was all so overwhelming. The studio was a cozy and very functional apartment. -On Wednesdays, there is a wonderful fresh market in the morning until around noon. Go down the bottom of the hill and take a right. Keep walking and you will see it on your left. If you have one, bring a bag and/or cooler bag. Then as you walk At the far end of the parking lot heading toward the ocean on your right is a chicken place. They grill other things but get the chicken. You can even take it home and reheat it in a frying pan. It's great. If you do not want to spend all of your money at bars and restaurants, it's cheap enough and goes great with fresh veggies. In the neighborhood, I would also highly recommend 5 stars: Daddy Cools and the Kitchen, the Fresh Market on Wednesday, The Fresh Fish Market (Mondays) the Continente Supermarket, and if you are American and you just like regular coffee, go to the Intermarche Market, get a jar of Nescafe, heat up the water kettle, and if you like half-half and not milk, the Intermarche is where you will find it. It is cold, in the dairy aisle, made by Turim, on the bottom shelf next to the frozen foods in the corner. Enjoy!

IrelandVery inconvenient check in / out times. Location was in a sketchy area, but not too bad. It was ok but waaaay to overpriced for the value (+100€/night).
Location is relatively close to the beach (15 mins walk). Host was polite. The kitchen is furnished.
