Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandMariana was an exceptional host. She was warm and very helpful. The public area of the Na Travessa is stylish and welcoming with a light and airy breakfast area that opens onto a small landscaped garden. We stayed three nights and each morning Mariana and her staff ( Joanna)provided a generous and delicious breakfast. One morning Mariana had baked a delicious citrus cake, in fact every morning there was something different in the offerings. The suite was smallish but very well designed . It was light and airy with a good shower ensuite and comfortable bed. The Na Travessa is situated in an old but very convenient part of Porto. We highly recommend this exceptional host and her super accommodation in the lovely city of Porto. Jane and Charles

Germany—
We chose the hotel for its central location, nice design and good value for money, but we left with the impression to have chosen the most friendly hotel in Porto. The service of Mariana‘s team - from being available via WhatsApp anytime to the impeccable breakfast, accommodating personal preferences - is unobtrusive yet outstanding.

AustraliaThere were a group of homeless living immediately outside when we were there. This is likely to change but if I was a woman travelling alone, I would avoid arriving at night alone.
We stayed here for one night before starting our Camiño walk. I could not recommend it highly enough. The location is very central and close to the cathedral. The owners were incredibly helpful, warm and welcoming. The instructions for our arrival were very detailed and easy to follow. Breakfast was delicious and there was even extra so we could make our lunch. The building is beautiful inside, so peaceful with every element considered.

Spotlessly clean. Amazing breakfast - lovely ingredients and plentiful. Very central location - literally 2 minutes from Sao Bento station. Marisa and Joanna were extremely friendly and accommodating; nothing was too much trouble for them. We had an early trip one morning and they provided a delicious breakfast -on-the -go for us. Would highly recommend staying here!

United StatesThere was a homeless hangout close to the hotel but they never bothered us. They were minding their own business.
Nice hotel with modern decorations. Everyone there were super nice and helpful. Communication with the owners for check-in was easy to follow because we had to check-in late. Exceptional breakfast every morning to fuel us up. Even though we were right in the center, rooms were very quiet. I liked the wooden panels in the windows which completely darkened the room. Easy walk to Ponte de Dom Luis bridge and across the street from Porto Cathedral. We were wandering till late enjoying the restaurants around the hotel.

United KingdomNothing. In many years of submitting reviews I don’t think I’ve ever given a 10 but Na Travessa and the team fully deserved it.
Great room with views of the nearby Cathedral and Porto skyline from private balconies. The hotel is an architecturally impressive conversion of an older building and has all the modern facilities you would expect executed in an extremely stylish way. Staff were brilliant and price includes a wonderful breakfast of cold meats and cheeses and pastries. Location is also good - it really is just a 4-minute walk from Sao Bento station and its famous blue tiles and also very close to the cathedral and the high-level bridge over the river.

CanadaThe location of Na Travessa can not be more perfect. Very short walk to the train station and is in the middle of everything. The property is extremely clean and comfortable. Mariana is so lovely to communicate with and very accommodating. She adjusted our breakfast time without hassle when we needed to leave early. She helped with planning our visit. She quickly replied to our messages and went the extra mile to ensure our stay in Porto was what we wanted.

Mariana and Joanna are delightful hosts. The breakfast was wonderful. The location is very convenient to many sights. The view was amazing. The bathroom was great since it had a walk in shower and not a tall tub over which to vault.

It was an excellent renovated hotel with good design. It is just for 8 rooms. Room was a bit small but cozy and well-equiped with a perfect view for the city. We booked a standart room but our host said that it was updated and we got better option. It was pleasant.
