How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was perfect.
Everything was perfect. The house was completely new and renovated, and everyfhing was clean. The accommodation was like in a 5-star hotel. We only stayed one night and because of our early flight we didn't take breakfast (but the host gave us some snacks to bring). The location is the best thing, only 10 minutes walk from the airport, and this route is safe even at night. All recommendations for Jose and Rosa!

The light between both rooms is automatic and lightened few times during night because of the legs moving in the bed ;)
Excellent location. Around 10min. by foot to the airport direct way (area is well lightened, safe). The owner of the property explained all necessary information about property, area in a very good English language (compliments to his English level, teacher!). Comfortable beds. Fully equipped bathroom for a traveler needs (shampoo, hair dryer). Free water in bottles, cookies, tea, water kettle was a nice bonus (didn't see close shop nearby in the area and was no power to walk around to look for it).

Perfect location, 10 min. away from the airport by foot. The room is very nice and spacious. The beds are really comfortable with nice comfy pillows. As promised, there was a small coffe maker, tea, snacks and a bottle of water. The bathroom is modern and very clean. The towels, shower gel and shampoo were provided. Our host, Jose, is a very kind and friendly gentleman. He gave as more information than we expected and some useful tips regarding the commute to Porto. For me everything was perfect.

everything was perfect
we got a good night sleep in a comfortable and clean room ideally located for us to catch the onward flight from Porto airport and catch the metro into Porto to pass a few hours before our flight. Most of all Jose the owner was so helpful to us, nothing was too much trouble for him, he was able to give us good advice and information.

Great hosts,perfect location.. Beautiful place,peacefull Senhor José is a genuine caring person ensuring that we were comfortable and even show us a quicker route to the airport..He also gave us all the necessary information about the area, restaurants market day etc. Highly recommended..

You need to have cash for city taxes.
Super kind owner! He was so polite, explained everything and showed the shortest way to airport. Apartment is as a separate house in his property and we were even sad we needed to leave so early. So definitely can recommend if you want to have peaceful, comfortable rest before or after your flight.

Everything was spotlessly clean. There have been recent renovations. The room is spacious and comfortable. The location is convenient and we were able to easily walk to the airport in the morning. Jose was most kind and accommodating!

Perfect Location and 15 min walking distance to the airport which is extremely helpful when having to catch a flight at 6AM with two small kids. Extraordinary nice and helpful host, even taking care about all our luggage when we arrived too early. Thank you very much!

Excellent location, quiet and family atmosphere. very organized and clean, I highly recommend it! There are restaurant options and a supermarket, just a few minutes walk from Porto airport.

The host was really friendly and talked to us every day, making sure that we had everything we needed. He also offered us two umbrellas because it was rainy. It was really helpful. The accomodation was really good. It is just 10-15 minutes of walking from the aerport. It is also close to the metro station (Botica station) and it is just 30 minutes by metro to the centre of Porto. Buying tickets for metro or train was easy.

Jose is very kind. Clean room, spacious. The walk to and from airport is safe and well light. We walked at midnight and around 4am. We found one or two other family /groups walking like us.

It was spotless, clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was a 12 minute walk to the Porto airport-very convenient.
Jose’ and Rosa are charming. Jose went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable and provided me with excellent dining recommendations!

Maybe a bit of fresh air in the rooms but otherwise top accommodation.
The lovely Host, the cleanliness and the proximity to the airport. Although it was close to the airport, it was quiet and peaceful. A good recommendation of the host about a local restaurant nearby names "Tomar de Sal", a must visit. Both accommodation and restaurant were good value for money.

The room was very clean with everything that we could possible need. Josè was a great host, he explained everything we needed to know and was very kind. The accommodation is so close to the airport which meant we didn't have to worry about transport in the morning as we could just walk to the airport. Overall a great stay and we would stay again.
