Had Joana been able to improve the weather, she would have done so! Fortunately, she had very large umbrellas and a good heating system to deal with the rather unexpected cool and windy weather we had.

Joana, is a wonderful accommodating hostess. She awaited our arrival, gave us whatever we needed (extra blanket, umbrellas, information, maps, directions) to make our stay pleasant. Her home is lovely, situated well, near the centre, public transit, and shopping. Very large, quiet room, modern washroom, with good water pressure, views of street, and fresh breakfast foods, provided early for us on departure day. Good internet and TV. Thank you for making our stay special:)

The best place where we stayed during our visit in Portugal! Joana was an amazing host and made sure that we were comfortable with recommending places. The place itself is a nice modern apartment located in a quiet traditional street with walking distance to a lot of famous landmarks and the train station Campamha. Buffet breakfast was also delicious with great selection!

I was in a need of a hairdryer but did not find it in the bathroom, perhaps it was somewhere else in the room - I did not search any further. I'm certain Joana would have provided one immediately but I was not picky at 11 p.m. That's all, really.

I can highly recommend Joana's place. The apartement is very close to Campo 24 Augosto metro station ( 5 minutes walk ) and easily available either from the Train station ( Campanha ) and the airport. The street is an absolutely authentic Portugal street so it is a sight itself. The room was a little puritane, facing to the backyard (you will not care when you return from your all-day walking around the city) although there is everything you need, bathroom, nice shower, very comfy bed, good wifi. The room was very clean, perfect in this regard. Believe me, in Porto you will spend very limited time in your room (at least awake) and you get every bits for a relaxing night. Ice on cake - Joana ! She is incredibly flexible and careful host, very warm hearted and she looks for every tiny wishes you may have. Good restaurants are in easy reach (500 m or so) and all the sights in the city are within a 2 km diameter circle. GO WALK! Finally, do not forget to pin your home on Joana's Earth in the dining room, it's really interesting to see how many of us from how far places visited here.

I would have liked to have seen a coffee making facility in the room, there is tea but no coffee.

The location of the property is fantastic. We specifically wanted to stay somewhere quiet and this did absolutely that, it is located on a nice quiet street but yet not too far from anything on foot. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was so very comfortable and the blinds and shutters at the windows allow a nice dark room, even first thing in the morning. Joana also left bottled water in the room which was a great touch. Joana was the perfect host, very helpful. We asked if we could drop our luggage off prior to our room being ready as we arrived in Porto on a very early flight, this was accommodated by Joana and not only that she then messaged us once our room was ready. She also made great recommendations for dinner.

Joana is not simply a host, she is a friend who welcomes you warmly and kindly, giving the common areas of the building at your full disposal. Once there, we were even advised on the most interesting and entertaining places in Porto, making our stay easier to enjoy the city. Everything is also facilitated by the surroundings where you have the subway, groceries, bar, restaurant, and if you wish, the city center 10 minutes walking from the building. One point I would like to emphasise is the delicate and discreet room care Joana and her staff provided. Although we had left the room very messy, we found everything perfectly clean.

The moment I walked through the door, I felt at ease. Aside from the lovely building and immaculate accommodation, I found true hospitality here. Joana caters to guests’ needs with minimum fuss. The continental breakfast was a thoughtful selection of the freshest fruit, breads, pastries and cereals, as well as a cheese/meat board. This guest house ‘sets the bar high’ and its location is a very manageable distance from the town centre. I’ve tried similar accommodation in the heart of Porto, however in my view, ‘O da Joana’ is a far superior option.

Outstanding room! Very spacious and airy. Good sized bathroom with excellent shower. Amazing bed with crisp white linen, we slept very well and decided to stay an extra 2 nights after it being an initial stop gap. Excellent host Joana very warm and welcoming host with great knowledge on the best places to visit both locally and further afield. A good breakfast and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Would 100% recommend.

Upon arrival at our destination in Porto, we had a lovely welcome from the apartment owner (Joana). She kindly provided valuable tips for our stay at Porto by marking them on the map, which was very useful in planning our trips. The apartment's location is near the Metro stop, and its location was a good starting point (also for a walk). What we liked was the breakfast which included juice, coffee, fresh bakery, ham, cheese, and something sweet. We had a clean room on the 1st floor, in regional style. Also, the bed was appropriate, so we slept very well. Joana was always helpful and ready to help when we had any questions. We had a fantastic stay at Porto, and the accommodation contributed to our positive impression of the city. We can only recommend this apartment.
