We recently stayed at Octant Douro to celebrate our first year anniversary and we couldn't have been happier. I think we were given a free upgrade and the view of our room was incredible! The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. We were welcomed with fruit, a bottle of wine, and a personalised card in our room, which made us feel really special. We ate in both of the hotel restaurants and the food never disappointed. Again, we were given a special treat at the end to mark the occasion! The breakfast is also really good. Although we didn't have a spa treatment we made use of the steam room, sauna and heated pool, which were excellent. The hotel is beautiful but the staff's excellent service and attention to detail really set it apart. It's clear that they take great pride in their work.

I found the pillows to be too soft, it wasn't until I was checking out I found the pillow menu. It was otherwise perfect!

The views from the property and our room were breathtaking. The room was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated the included breakfast, and found the onsite restaurants to be quite good. We loved the indoor pool and also took advantage of the babysitting services. Everything about our stay was wonderful.

Just a bit more attentive service - we had some longish waits to place orders for food and drink - but to be honest we weren't in a hurry, so it didn't matter too much.

The hotel is superb. Incredible views from main areas, and all the pools are beautiful. The room is an incredible size, as is the bathroom. Food and drinks are priced well for the quality - and meant we really enjoyed the whole experience. Service was a little patchy - but didn't lessen our experience at all.

The food downstairs could be a little bit better

The hotel is stunning. Everything is beautiful And well thought. Nature is spectacular. Staff super friendly. It rained the whole time we were there but we still had a nice time chilling at the pool.

Impeccable hotel and facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing and quiet location within the nature. Pool and spa open 24h is definitely a good detail. Breakfast is definitely a 10 out of 10.

The website said "no kids in the spa section after 16:00", but there were a lot of kids in the spa section. It would be nice to have some kid-free time to relax in the spa section. Also; PLAN YOUR PICKUP WITH A TAXI. Tried getting an Uber or Taxi back to Porto, but it wasn´t that easy. Not the hotels' fault, completely our own. Just be smart and plan more than I did! Hotel helped me find a driver!

Had a river view room and it was beautiful. This place is so quiet. A break from the hectic everyday life and this refreshed my mind. The staff is super helpful and kind. Rooms are great. Food is also good!

you need to consider that it is not located at the winery area- this hotel is kind of remote and located in the middle of no where so there is not much around

we had the most perfect stay ever. this hotel is worth every penny, its the ultimate time-out for couples. the room was amazing, the inside door pool is great and the breakfast is perfect!

Location - this is not the Douro, it much more like Porto. very far away from all wineries. Lift was broken 2/3 of my stay there and I had to use stairs all the time.. Service was gentle but confuse

The turkish bath was temporarily out of order, as well as the treadmill, but it was not a major inconvenience. The gym could have more equipment, but again, not a big issue.

Breathtaking scenery - the Douro river and the surrounding forests. You truly are in the middle of the nature with all the comfort of a 5-star hotel. The indoor pool is open 24/7. Beautiful views from literally every corner of the hotel. Tasteful design in symbiosis with the nature. Complimentary ioga class. Everything about our stay was just perfect. :)

The hotel is quite far from Porto. You really need a car. Considering 5 star hotel some of the gym equipment was not functional and a steam room was out of service.

The settings and the architecture are spectacular. We loved the food (both restaurants), attentive staff, the swimming pools and sauna.
