Loved the property but the I would change the gravel pathways- was difficult to roll suitcase.

Location was very central, in the beautiful art district of Cedofeita- very good restaurants, shopping and a short 15-20 minute walk takes you to the Centro and down to the Rebiero. The hotel itself was a beautifully restored building. The staff were exceptionally helpful.

Breakfast was great! Lots of choice and very pleasant. Lovely hotel, quiet, extremely well maintained and clean, room was just, lovely. Staff were very welcoming and efficient. Whilst the hotel was approximately 15 minutes from the hub of Porto, this proved an added bonus for us for good walking distance and extremely quiet!

Nothing to dislike.

The room was lovely, clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. I had a little patio area to sit and relax. When you came back to your room in the evening, there was always a sweet treat waiting for you. They offered a lovely breakfast, with enough different food items to please everyone. All of the staff throughout the hotel was amazing. I couldn't ask for a more wonderful stay. The hotel itself was beautiful. If I decided to come to Porto again, without hesitation I would choose this place first,

Perhaps our own inability to work it, but the TV would not connect to the internet!! Did we miss keeping up with wars and negative news? Not at all. But at the same time there may be a blip here to overcome?

Breakfast was a real treat, sitting in a Versailles-like dining room. Delicious food and relaxed atmosphere. A great start to each day. Location of hotel was ideal. Far enough away from the busiest streets so that we heard no traffic., yet near enough to be able to walk to the sights.

Really struggle to find anything we didn't like.

Food was amazing - fresh, tasty, beautifully presented. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the way that the building has been renovated - it's stunning. Loved the subtle scents in the building and toiletries. Liked the fact that it's a little away from the city centre so that we got to see more of the city.

There was a nice outside seating area but no other inside common area to relax - my husband is an early riser and breakfast does not start until 7.

The breakfast was wonderful. I just wish they offered evening dining services. Rooms were so quiet thanks to thick solid walls. No slamming doors or hearing those around you. Location was very good and for the money this was a true value. If you like a gym while you travel this one was pretty good.

Location wise the area seemed a bit mixed but well worth the compromise for the standard of hotel and value for money was excellent.

Beautiful classy refurbishment of a stunning building, staff very friendly and proud of their work place. Very clean, immaculate and great detail in little extras on room. Lovely small pool area, comfy loungers.

We couldn't figure out how to turn down the heating, or maybe our room was warm anyways.

The place is really beautiful and well-maintained. The rooms are very clean and beds very comfortable. The stuff is helpful and polite. We also like the breakfast and the whole dining area resembles a palace.

The inside and outside areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean and beautifully designed. The staff were very helpful, even coming out to meet us to offer an umbrella on a rainy day! The room was comfortable and we appreciated being able to adjust the temperature. The breakfast was delicious with a good range of different foods available - fresh fruit, honey comb, yoghurt, pastries, cheese and cold meats, as well as cooked breakfast. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was outstanding. We didn’t use the fitness centre, but we did use the sauna which was excellent. The location is very convenient for sightseeing, in walking distance of parks, museums and the cathedral.

Very kind people, there were umbrellas on the reception which were handy for the time i visited Porto. Every inch of the property is extremely clean, including the rooms, reception area, outdoors, corridors, bar area, restaurant. The patio is perfect for an afternoon drink. All the tile work near the reception was cherry on top. The key card did not deactivate even once in 4 days, which is very uncommon with smart keys these days because of contact with mobile phone. They had very nice coffee table books in the common area. Sanitaryware, sheets quality, housekeeping of the room was very good quality. I absolutely loved my stay here.

The wood creaked loudly when someone was walking upstairs room.

5 star hotel level service. All important attractions are within a 10-minute walk. Parking 15 euros per day. When you go out in the evening, there is a sweet place on each bed. (Nice touch😊) The staff are so friendly&kind. Beautiful places to staying! I have nothing more to praise. Oh! Hotel restaurant food was fabulous soo good! Better to try! We will definitely come back to this hotel!

The cold pool but it was a small matter. It is outdoors and would be difficult to heat. Overall - douze points!

The manageress Barbara and all of her staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and kind. They helped us at all junctures and answered all questions and did their best to explain, give directions and solve problems. Seriously, one of the best places I have ever stayed. They only issue I had was that the breakfast menu did not vary, but there was plenty of options and different foods to allow a guest to vary their own menu. The only other thing that I would have asked for was to have a heated pool as the water was very cold and not suitable for swimming, The palace grounds are exquisite with a dining room like something out of Versailles, with tiled walls in blue (typical of Porto). At night there is a guard at the entrance which gives a sense of security as the neighbourhood has quite a few abandoned buildings, as does much of downtown Porto. The hotel is an exquisite corner out of time and just three blocks from the metro station and lots of great restaurants just down the street. The dinner at the hotel was also excellent, and one felt that it was a special chef who cooked there. The staff of the dining room were also exceptionally nice, pleasant, helpful and attentive. A true gem in the world of hotels and hospitality.
