For the price point in a 3*hotel (I paid ~ €220 per night) you would expect some sort of fan or air con. In my personal experience staff were not particularly helpful with giving directions to public transport (gave wrong information and wrong directions!) Was disappointed in the fresh fruit selection @breakfast.

Rooms were spotlessly clean. Located right on the beach. Rooms nicely furnished, roomy, comfy bed.

More plant based protein options at breakfast would be good, such as peanut butter, nuts and seeds. Smoke from smokers on neighbouring balconies wafting into our room via our open balcony doors meant we often had to close the doors and couldn't enjoy the fresh sea breeze and sound of the ocean waves - perhaps some floors could be designated 'smoking on balconies floors'?

Friendly and efficient staff. Excellent location right by the sea, with wonderful sea views and access. Spacious room, balcony and stairwells. Comfortable bed and great shower. Bus stop into town outside hotel. Beach towels available and decent buffet breakfast. The whole hotel felt more luxurious than a 3 star. We could have happily stayed more than 3 nights - great place to relax.

Lift did not go down to the pool. You need to walk on a steep slope as well as take a lot of stairs. No problem for us, but for disabled people quite impossible.

Breakfasts were weaker, same food every time, minimal changes, small drinking glasses, staff sometimes didn't understand English. When requesting an early breakfast we were referred to the reception and ordered a package, however the reception suddenly wanted 9€ per person for this service, which is otherwise normally free, with the proviso that it had to be ordered the day before.

Nice hotel, nice place, big rooms, parking. Fantastic ocean view from the room.

Breakfast was monotonous - we spent there 8 days and everyday was the same selection, with no local specialities. Bed mattress was placed on some weird construction, I didn't feel stable.

Great location - far from the city, so it was very calm in surrounding, with very comfortable connection to Camara de Lobos via promenade (20 minutes walk). Room with ocean view and ocean sound. The most impressive black beach on the island.

Staff at the reception could be way nicer - they could at least say hello back when we greeted them first but maybe they were working hard and didnt hear us.

Wonderful location! We loved sitting at the balcony and watching the ocean. Room was spacious, comfy and clean. Breakfast was delicious, i would like to appreciate staff at the breakfast, they were very helpful and polite. I really recommend this hotel!

A lovely band in the bar. The beautiful voice of Sara accompanied by Victor made the poncha way nicer. Also the view from the room is like a painting.

The view over the ocean is fantastic - from every room you see black volcanic beach. It's fantastic. Every night we slept with windows wide open to hear sound of waves. Hotel stuff were all sooooo nice and polite and fun! Breakfast was good, something for everyone. Parking spots are available also on the street above hotel. It's great stay for exploring city Funchal.

Staff were polite rather than particularly friendly — although I guess that’s partly down to the size of the hotel. My husband was unimpressed by the breakfast buffet, particularly the quality of the meats and cheeses (although the freshly cooked breads were lovely). It was reduced occupancy while we were there, due to COVID restrictions; I think in ordinary circumstances we’d have found it too busy and possibly rather noisy. (Very thin walls!)

The location was perfect for us: a little out of the main resort area, and right beside the beach (which is mainly sand), just a short walk from Churchill Bay. The views across the sea were lovely, and our balcony was a great size. Staff were polite and courteous.

Breakfast was a bit sub par with not a lot of options. Bed was ok for a night or two but for 10days we stayed it was quite uncomfortable. Some days we had bad smell in the bathroom.

Amazing balcony view, huge balcony. Free parking, very nice pool. The room was very spacious as well as the bathroom. The front desk arranged covid test at the hotel which was very relaxed and highly appreciated.

Staff at the reception incompetent and helpless. They don't welcome you, they don't smile, they don't ask how your stay was at the check-out, every request is a problem and not possible to fulfill, they have no solution for anything, they don't speak English properly, they look so bothered when you ask them anything. Basically customer service does not exist in this hotel. Breakfast is very basic and 'cheap'. Coffee is terrible, food items bland, not tasty. I still managed to enjoy my stay, because after several ridiculous moments at the reception, I decided to avoid the staff and focused on the views, pool and location.

This hotel is all about the location: located right at the beach with breath-taking views, the constant sound of the waves, right on the promenade where you can walk, run, have a meal or a drink. The pool was great. Very nice and spacious rooms and balcony.

The hotel stands on the cliff on it's own beach, isn't it already something!! Sweeping views of the ocean, sound of crushing waves, delightful room and common areas. There is also a parking, so with a car it's so easy to access.. Just enjoyed all of it!!

There's no airconditioning in the room. There are only few parking spots, but it's ok to park the car on the street nearby, so it's not an issue.

Wonderful place, it was so relaxing to sleep with balcony open, thanks to the sounds of the ocean waves. The room was very large and very silent, so we enjoyed very calm nights. The pool has perfect water temperature. We enjoyed the breakfast as well, very nice selection of available food. And the reception desk staff is very friendly and keen to help.
