Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThere was a lack of welcome and we had to ask other guests for assitance
The setting comprises 200+ small apartments set out in a complicated arrangement. Reception gave us a key and left us to find no. 63. We wandered around looking for it for about 40 minutes while there was 4 staff in reception. Apart from this poor service the apartment was pleasant

United KingdomThere should be notification that recycling bins are available. We found them on our walk but. An idea would be to put sacks in the room so that people take to appropriate bins.
A little gem to relax after being in Lagos which was very crowded. Everything you need for a stopover, next time we will book a bungalow for extra space. You can use the wi fi by going to the pool. A lovely area full of bars and restaurants, ideal location for several days, next time we will stay longer.

IrelandThe steps leading up to first-floor apartments are a little narrow and dangerous, without a rail, and could be a risk for older guests. The onsite restaurant was not open, although the bar did offer light meals.
Nice layout in excellently-kept gardens where you could see hedgehogs wandering around at night. Local cats were also catered for at feeding stations! Easy access to the shops and restaurants in the town down by the shore. The whole complex has been very well laid out, in traditional style.

GermanyThe apartments are spread over quite large area and it was dark when we arrived. We were given instructions how to get to our bungalow but the lighting was too dark for us to see the numbers on the properties and we had to go back to reception to get someone to accompany us to our apartment.
We had problems at Faro airport which meant that we were rather late for the evening meal we had ordered. The restaurant staff waited until we arrived and had eaten , before they closed.

United KingdomTo be honest, not much. I stayed there out of the main season, so Pedras de Rainha's free bus services weren't running. We had a car, so no problem. I did find a large beetle in my room which was probably overwintering. I took it to reception for them to identify it.
Easy walk into Cabanas de Tavira for evening meals and entertainment.

A lovely green/ garden property with good sports amenities. A short walk to the boardwalk and ocean and restaurants on the waterfront. A very well equipped apartment with balcony facing the pool. Daily maid service. Very helpful 24/7 staff at reception. Bus stop right at the front door. A handy grocery store nearby.

United KingdomThe air con unit wasn't working properly, but given time of year didn't really matter. Room could get cold though, so would be absolutely perfect for Summer. Only other slight negative, the pillows, no matter where I go so that's not exclusive to Pedras.
Cleanliness. Equipment within the room meant you had everything you needed. Location is perfect and it has all the facilities you need on site. Staff were amazing.

Pedras is perfectly situated in the middle of Cabanas. 3 mins walk to the costal boardwalk with lots of restaurants. Staff are very helpful. Apartments are spotless and include brand new appliances..DW, washing machine, hob, microwave and full oven. Spar shop on your doorstep. 10 minutes walk to train station that takes you to Faro in one direction and Spain in the other. Would return in a heartbeat

United KingdomOriginally allocated a bungalow next to the tennis courts which meant we had noise from them all day. We requested another quieter location. Fortunately one was available which we transferred too the next day. Though it was quiet it was very tired and really needed upgrading.

United KingdomThe property seems like a cave. really dark even if all windows / curtains are open. Bed mattress quality was really poor, not sure if it was old or extremely soft, but I will recommend to replace it. Something that really surprises us was that the property does NOT have internet!!! Being in 2023 I would never expect that this is a "luxury" benefit, so for me it was a big surprise (in a bad way) as I had to work during my stay there. The resort offers you a possibility to rent a router for a the cost of £1per day. At least they offer a solution.
It is a private property with garden access, which in our case, with 2 dogs, was a great extra. The development area is really close to the seafront, where you can go for a walk.
