The Hotel does not really justify a 5 star rating. It is more a 4 star in our opinion.

The helpfulness and friendliness of the Hotel staff. The Hotel policy of not having plastic bottles was also appreciated.

The maderian restaurant was poor. Recliners around the pool were tired Tea making facilities in the room had no milk Gym not well equipped

The indoor heated pool was only heated to 27 degrees C so it was really cold, especially for a child. This was a big disappointment as the outdoor pools were also too cold to use. The beds are also incredibly hard, and old pipes make a loud screeching sound each time toilets are flushed. The Kids Club Schedule that was posted wasn’t really followed.

The staff was very attentive, helpful and kind. The views are beautiful.

There was no door to the toilet in our room - it was open plan so no proper privacy. The decor in the room was not good in places. The a la carte restaurants had limited menus and the decor was very tatty. The gluten free options were very limited and I got tired of just eating fish all the time.

The gardens are very pretty. The main public rooms are attractive. The staff are efficient. The pool area is nice. As it was all inclusive there were always plenty of snacks and drinks available.

The room was a bit worn out and no one really informs you about the possibilities in the hotel so it is kinda hard to navigate and plan your stay.

A wide choice for cocktails and foods that are included in the price. Many things to keep you entertained.

Too hot in the restaurant and other shared places. There is no AC there so it’s hard to stay in there. You end up sweating during the lunch/dinner.

Everything is clean, the restaurant is awesome with a lot of choice and quality. The bar is very well equipped. Staff very friendly.

Dinner buffet was not so great,not much variety for 5* hotel. Mopping of floors with lots of water by pool done at 9h30 to 10h00, when pools open at 9h00, could not sit, had to wait till it was done, while we were waiting,my child starting playing around and slipped on soap and water,hence why this should be done before pool opens! The hotel rooms need attention, lots of maintenance needed, toliet leaking & toliet seat sliding off the floor (changed rooms). The carpets are so dirty in rooms & entertainment area! The single beds made up for kids, avoid at all costs, kids could feel the springs of the bed,had to get extra matresses in order for kids to sleep after 24h00 as they could not fall asleep on the beds! The single fold up beds used for kids are ancient!

The pool was amazing, kids loved it!! Breakfast was also very nice, huge variety to choose from! Location is good! The outside area is superb & the bar! A special thank you to Faria who assisted us to making sure we were happy even after midnight. And the one reception lady that ensured we changed rooms due to toliet not functioning. Thank you!

In the food there was not so much variaation and no seafood except fish. In asian restaurant the menu was also quite a poor. The pool bar should be also open longer than 17.30.

The bed had a very firm mattress which was too hard for me unfortunately. Helping yourself to tea and coffee at breakfast was not ideal. There was always a long queue and people would ignore the queue and go straight to the front causing queuing guests to get annoyed. Breakfast needs to be a calm time and it wasn't.

The food, entertainment, pool and seating areas were all very nice. The room was clean with a lovely sea view. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The hotel seems to be very old, and in some rooms, it isn't very pleasant for you. The toilets and beds and shower need a renovation.

It was, in a real word, an all-inclusive hotel. I really enjoyed how they wanted to give the service to the guests. The location was great. The staff was all great, everything was great,

Breakfast and dinner buffet too crowdy (we never went for liunch). Remote location (but easy access by bus). Hotel offers free bus transfer to Funchal but only 2 times a day.

Service a little bit slow at check-in and had to wait for confirmation for 2nd day room, but understandable with the heavy demand on the top of planned customers.

Had an urgency due to cancelled flight; even with heavy demand - hotel was able to accommodate us stranded for some days. Good quality of food and drinks.

Cocktails were very basic and didn't have much alcohol in them. Bed was fairly hard The hotel was clearly set up for a much older generation of people, music wasn't to our taste. Evening entertainment was poor and was repetitive. Gym could have benefitted from more equipment.

Great location near the airport, ocean and walkable distance to Funchal. Food was nice. Waiters and reception staff were really helpful. Pools was nice. Easy parking.
