The prices in the hotel itself are significantly higher than elsewhere, the food is just OK. Better to go elsewhere for dinner for a better experience and save money.

Great amenities. The hotel staff are great. There's a few good restaurants nearby as well as a pub. Great breakfast!

The free parking is terrible, every day almost full and very hard to drive there. At least they offered the last day in the paid parking.

The rooms need renovation very badly. Carpet is worn out, curtains were off the hooks, bathtub was small and uncomfortable for a bath, dustbin in the bathroom was broken. Except one complimentary bottle of water one has to pay for even water.

The location was excellent. The staff was good. Breakfast was very good.

Really BAD Internet, we work online so this was not good as the Internet keeps dropping signal, so our kids were upset and we manage to do our online work using our 5G mobile internet sharing to our laptops. we notice that this is an ongoing issue as more customers complaint on previews reviews. We contact staff but they were unable to resolve it.

Nothing not to like.

This place was so much better than we expected. Stayed one week in April, with small child. It was fantastic. Everyone went out of their way to help, provide info, helped us with great reservations to fabulous restaurants (recommended by friends who have/do live in Madeira, and the hotel made the same recommendations, all excellent), as well as helped us book babysitting services so we could have adults only evenings (the company they work with was wonderful and sent over a kindergarten teacher who has two kids herself - our boy was smitten!). Not to mention that one night when we had to stay in because of our kid having a high fever, the restaurant agreed to deliver an absolutely gourmet, three course meal off their menu to our room, which we had on the fabulous balcony. The way the hotel is divided, with the pools at different levels and with different amenities in different places was really nice. it meant no area ever got overcrowded. Breakfast was beyond plentiful and with a large variety of everything you could want. Food and drinks on location were generally very good. Even the poolside bar and resto on the top floor was more than decent even if only limited selections. Great drinks for the adults! And fun animation for the kids. Yes some small things here and there could use an upgrade (carpet in a couple of the elevators kind of thing though). But overall, very well kept. The rooms were extremely spacious, always superbly clean, bed was hyper comfortable; and that view from the seaside facing rooms is just to die for. Would be nice if they could ensure that heating for the pools that should be heated can be up and running (was broken for one of the four pools that was supposed to be the warmest while we were there). but the overall temperature of the pools seems to be standard across the hotels so just be prepared that the water is no more than 21/22/23 degrees in spring (maybe warmer in summer months due to stronger sun).

Check in could be improved. My room wasn't ready when I arrived and I was offered another room which was occupied. So I was offered a third room eventually.

Breakfast was quite nice. It was sometimes difficult to sleep when the nightclub opposite the hotel was open as it was noisy and could be heard from the room.

noise from disco our beds were being made several times a day but there was no cleaning of the floor - we would have preferred the other way around

No wifi in room for whole stay. Told it was down to upgrades being carried out. Also, unfortunately Madeira has been affected by the menace of excessively noisy motorbikes - I was awoken every night by very noisy, speeding motorbikes passing the hotel.

The only minor detail (and it is minor ) wax as an older hotel sone areas are a little dated in decor but still spotlessly clean so not really an issue

Staff were all so friendly and helpful , breakfast had a good range of food available - busy at times but that’s the same everywhere , besides the hill climb up to the hotel location was perfect -20-30 minute walk along the coast to old town- lovely

The room was dated, furniture was ripped, sheets and towels were overused for a 5-star hotel. The parking availability is a nightmare, long periods of time waiting for a space in the free parking (over 1h) even though the hotel has free spaces in the paid parking they could offer instead while the free parking is full - that is not a good service, particularly when guests have toddlers in the car. And the interior pools were not really that heated. The one on floor 0 was as cold as the one outside.

The location is great, right on top of the ocean and walking distance to the marina, room was incredibly spacious, good for families, the personnel was really friendly and helpful.

Tennis court is totally broken and unusable! Table tennis bats are old and broken. There's no good gym.

Worn unclean spotted couch in the room. Floor had its days, around sliding doors. Not enough storage space for longer stay. Had to live from luggage, very inconvenient!

Breakfast excellent, room quite tired, view outstanding. Staying in the hotel again, the answer is unfair to say; NO. Depends, maybe after seeing the room. The pools are too cold. Mini golf; best not to advertise. A derelict.
