Before I went, the hotel sent me a breakfast offer for a 17 euro cost per day rather than the normal 23 euros. A nice gesture, I thought. So I took it. However, because I had to leave early on my last day and miss breakfast, they wouldn't give me the deal. Why offer it. A slap in the face. However, Joao Bibe (Front Desk Manager) restored my faith in humankind. Much appreciated! The room was basic and very clean. But too small and no place to store luggage or anything. Only one English channel, Skynews, was too restricting.

Location is perfect to get around to see the city. The included breakfast was excellent with Sofia making my daily breakfast such a pleasure. The front desk staff (Front Desk Manager, Joao Bibe) were so accommodating and listened to my concerns. Carlota at the front desk went out of her way to make me feel welcome and special. Much appreciated.

Location . It was a long walk to the busy area, although there were Lots of taxis if you dont like walking.

From the second I arrived at the hotel, until I left, everything was absolutely perfect. The beautiful fragrance of the hotel was the first thing that I noticed. The friendly and helpful staff at the door and reception were extremely welcoming. The room was a good size, with a separate seating area, with a comfortable sofa. There was a dressing table with large mirror. Complementary water, coffee and tea. The bed was really comfortable. There was a turn down service each evening. The room has a balcony running along the whole length. The bathroom offers a bathtub and a separate shower and is spacious and modern. Breakfast is plentiful, offering cereals, bread, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, fruit, cooked breakfast, fresh juices etc. The restaurant is clean and modern and all staff offer a high level of service. The location is ideal. It's situated in a side road off the main avenue, so it's quieter, but still within walking distance to all of the local sights. There's public transport nearby too, if walking isn't your thing. The spa treatments were very relaxing. Again, the staff were amazing. There's an indoor pool in the spa area plus a jacuzzi on the roof terrace.

We loved everything about our stay at PortoBay! The entire staff was friendly and gracious. The location is fabulous. The rooftop bar lovely. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Balconies were a treat! The morning breakfast was spectacular and the staff at restaurant so kind and welcoming. We also had dinner one night at Bistro 4 and it was wonderful. This property offers it all!!!!

I'd categorise it as a 4 star hotel. It wasn't exceptional. The mattress was a bit soft in the middle, the rooftop terrace had no service after 6 pm or just very limited service where you'd have to order your drinks downstairs and they'd bring it up. The fireplaces on the roof top were always turned off and the whirlpool was turned off/ getting cold after 6 Pm. The rooms were a bit dark and could be more modern/bright. More hangers in the closet would be nice.

The location was very central and in a great neighborhood. The room and the hotel in general were very clean. The staff was friendly and the facilities incl. Sauna, gym and pool were nice. Great breakfast! There were two big bottles of water for free prepared in the room every day.
