Everything....one of the best hotels in Portugal and I have been to many. No other comparisons to this great place. True 5 star service and fantastic breakfast.

The service at the Taberna Praça restaurant. Stood around to be shown to a table. No one reacted or showed interest. Then sat down on my own accord but non one came to serve me so I left.

This hotel is literally within the fortress walls. It was in a perfect location for us, close to town but also close to the park and a beautiful walk up the coast. It was generally very quiet with the sound buffered by the fortress walls. We loved the breakfast buffet, filling up every day so we had no need for lunch. I appreciated that we were shown the short cut to the marina, exiting through the wall in the lower level. The swimming pool was lovely

It was so humid in the room that the towels were not drying. The double room also didn't have a bath tube as we expected.

Service in The Chapter bar could have been better and a couple of days we didn't have our bathroom fully cleaned.

Maybe to have the room cleaned earlier in the day - on one of the days by 5pm it still hadn't been cleaned - not a big deal but...

Location was amazing. Great hotel in a old fort right near the marina and the old part of town. The breakfast was great value. Loved everything about this hotel.

Location, location, location….. in the middle of town but the fort provided relaxing privacy likened to royalty within their castle walls. Such an experience staying in such an historical building! The breakfast was outstanding and the staff…….. everyone we met and we stayed for 5 nights……. were just so super helpful. Outdoor and indoor pools amazing and the views across the town or the Marina and out to sea from one of the many outdoor seating areas was spectacular. Excellent holiday.

The fire alarm kept being triggered when taking a shower, but reception acted quickly and turned it off (on multiple occasions). There is not free car park (I think around 20 euros/day).

The room was fine and comfortable. The staff was nice, and the breakfast was good. I even got a small surprise on my birthday during breakfast.

Convoluted. I.e. Facilities - locating Pool, tiny gym 7 pieces? for such a many roomed property - had to queue for sub standard/ maintained equipment. Breakfast location - should be more central for ease of guests I.e. bar area down off reception as it’s wasted space, Staff too slow/ receptive/ lacking direction (20mins for coffee unacceptable) at breakfast when quiet. Cleanliness - sweeping table contents onto floor and not cleaning ‘toasting’ area. Overall poor show Shame seeing guests walk through uneven sloped carpeted/ areas to get - breakfast/ pool/ spa too much of wasted space. use more central area for ease Do not eat outside for seagulls

From start to finish the staff were friendly, helpful and did everything to make our trip a memorable one. The breakfast was exceptional, the view and location magnificent and the Taverna de Praca owned by the hotel a wonderful place to eat.

I thought the room smelled a bit moldy and for that price I think the floors could be in better shape (scratched floors).

It was close to the sea, breakfast was included, the bed was VERY comfortable I slept great each night, many great movie channels avaibalr and the staff were very friendly.
