How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I don't want to rate anything here because unfortunately it is not the responsibility of the local management. There is enough to do.....
Although the pousada is getting old I like it there. That's thanks to the very hard working staff.i would particularly like to thank the night duty. He did everythingthat we could feel comfortable!!.

Late check in ( (17 00)
20-25 min walk to city center and bus-train station. Old building,basic small room. Wi fi is good ,also breakfast.

The hostel was take in water and was difficult to close the door of our room.

The room is too small for 6 beds. It had a strong smell of dog which I don´t feel comfortable with. I didn´t feel that when checking in, it only happened some hours later when I was back to the room in the evening, maybe it came from one guest. Although it´s not allowed to eat in the room, there was a lot of bread crumbs on the floor. Anyway, it´s not the hostel´s fault.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast, simple but tasty. Bathroom is clean and bright, no bad smell at all. Near the university, 30´ walk from the main bus station, many buses connecting the place, city center and the station so I am happy with the location.

If you’re looking for a social hostel and for meeting new people this isn’t the right place for you. There are not common spaces where you can chill with other people and not even a proper kitchen. The atmosphere is generally a bit weird and people are not very sociable.
My boyfriend and i booked a double room just for us. It was very basic, but Considering the price (30€ per night) it was worth it. Everything was pretty clean and the room was very spacious. Also the toilets, even if basic, were clean and they had all we needed (even shower gel in the showers). The breakfast was included in the price and surprisingly it was very good and with a good variety of stuff to choose from.

Only 2 outlets in a room of 12 people Bathroom is at the end of the hallway and showers are on a different floor. Wasn't allowed to check in before 17:00 even thought the bed was ready. Not even at 16:50 which is kind of weird to wait until exactly 5 P.M. even though the bed was already made. Breakfast wasn't the best

Ca. 10 min to the center. Very basic facilities and breakfasts
Relatively clean. Very nice and helpful staff. Parking on the street, free, quite easy to find a place.

I seriously hope they would put up some curtains on the bunk beds in the name of privacy. It would be a high plus and urgently needed having in place a metal box with our own padlocks to safely store - keep our most valuables goods. Most people are honest however best be safe than sorry :-)
The staff were absolutely great: very friendly, helpful, professional. The hostel is a stone thrown away from the main touristic places. I would recommend it to friends and family :-) The breakfast was amazing. Loads of choices!

It was a very cheap stay for a one-day trip. The staff was extremely friendly and we had breakfast included. it felt like sleeping in a school which is cool

Dormitories are too crowded. 2 bunkbeds would be reasonable, 3 bunkbeds and you have no space.

The place is pretty far away from everything. There is no supermarket nearby and the only restaurant is a McDonalds.
The breakfast war okay, no vegan options tho except for tomatoes and fruit. Checking out was pretty easy, the check-in was at 17 o’clock but we were allowed to leave our luggage there.

No cleaning during the stay.
