Smell of the room was a bit muddy and compared to other older buildings we have stayed in on our vacation in Portugal they could renovate the rooms.

Place is wonderful, atmospheric. Breakfast is very good apart of the coffee which is horrible . Doesn't matter from the machine or "fresh brewed" ?

The warm welcome at reception. The beautiful courtyard of the convent, so tranquil. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed a tasty evening meal in the restaurant. The pork ribs, pork belly, and the fish..sea bass were all delicious. We really enjoyed our stay.

A few small things. We're puzzled by the uncharacteristic meanness of providing only four teas and coffees in the room, and then charging for extras. Strange when everything else is so generous. A small personal gripe (common to many hotels) - the room was dimly lit and we found it difficult to read at night. Bedside reading lights would be welcome. Also a second comfortable chair in the room would be welcome - there's plenty of space.

This is a magnificent place to stay in the heart of old Tavira, full of history and with a relaxing atmosphere. The location is perfect. The staff are very welcoming and the service is impeccable. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, with a large bathroom and plenty of storage. The lavish buffet breakfasts are exceptional, with everything you could want and more, the best we've experienced anywhere. Altogether a very special few days.

The rooms are beautiful, great food and lovely staff made for a very enjoyable break. The history talk and tour of the pousada with a young local historian was a particular highlight.

A bit too much hallway noise. Normally I dampen that out by running the air conditioning in fan only mode, but in this case you can only run the fan if the heat is on.

We stayed on the night of the holiday party. There were only a few people staying as it was off season. For some STRANGE reason they put us in a room at the very end of the facility. At 2 am we were woken up by LOUD yelling and partying and slamming of doors and windows right NEXT to our room!! Finally I has to call front desk at 3 am and ask why they would put people obviously at the hotel party RIGHT NEXT to our room knowing that their were at LEAST 75 rooms available!!! Needless to say we did not get much sleep but they did have the party next door move to a different room!! So...what I did not like is that the front staff did not put much thought into where they were having guests stay for the night!!! Why on EARTH would they put them right next to our room!!! that is the million dollar question and frankly quite interesting!!
