Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNot negative, but thinks to be aware of that come with this type of accommodation: - Mountain hut is about 50 m and a little hike up hill away from the common area - it gets a bit warm in the hut during the day (we were there end of August), no fan available - Smoking is only allowed in a designated space in the common area
Beautiful and peaceful place. Comfortable common area. Cooking allowed (unless on certain days in the evening). Amazing view from the hut. Outside shower and toilet. Power plugs and standing lights in the hut. Lovely stuff with helpful advices about the area. Plentiful breakfast with several vegan options. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, but struggled a bit with the distance from the mountain hut to the common area/car. If coming again, we would choose a tent closer to the common space.

BelgiumThere was nothing NOT to like about the property, but it might be good to know that the road to the farm is not lit and is very bumpy. Also challenging for wheelchair users.
Lovely, relaxing place to stay in the middle of Aljezur’s green nature. At arrival, Joana gave us a warm welcome and guided tour. The accommodation we booked consisted of a tent with a double bed and 2 single beds, which made it a super large place. Outside was the ecological toilet and shower, which was a real revelation. We felt like reborn after only two nights connecting with nature. Great recommendation!

NetherlandsReally no ‘didn’t likes’, more things that ‘would’ve been good to know’ - its a bit of a bumpy 10min car ride from the main road to the location - teepee tent is quite far removed from the parking so its a bit of a climb to get there with all of your things - they do have WiFi but it’s unsecured and open (in most places around the property there’s at least some regular cellular reception if you really need it so also not a big deal) - the natural lake has dried up because there hasn’t been any rain for a long time which is not something QA can do something about obviously and is actually just sad.
Beautiful location tucked away in the hills just a little outside of Aljezur, the teepee tent is spacious and overlooks a large part of the property’s land which gives great views, there’s great sky gazing at night from the teepee as well, they grow almost all the food themselves, very balanced with nature in all aspects, from food to facilities. The breakfast is very nice and the host that does the welcoming is very friendly, the people they recommend for surfing lessons are amazing. Close to a variety of beaches which are all breathtaking.

FranceTent exterior unusable: no terrace, brambles on the ground in front of the tent, no maintenance so no desire to use the wobbly outdoor table in the tall grass). A far cry from the instagram photos or the website. An exorbitant price (160 euros / night) for a tent which is not the "premium safari one", where the heat is unbearable during the day, and the night is humid... A cold shower in the morning... Not to mention the meal offered in the evening... 80 euros for 3 people including a 2.5 year old baby... To eat organic vegetables from the garden and a piece of meat with rice. 5 euros for a local craft beer. The bill comes to a hefty 420 euros for 2 nights with breakfast and dinner. No reply to a request on the booking message board regarding the price of the activities on offer... No meeting or communication with the owners. Based on the comments and photos, we were looking forward to discovering this place... We left extremely disappointed, with the feeling that we had been defrauded. Ecology, catering and hospitality are professions with real 'know-how', and given your price positioning, it's not right to work only with untrained volunteers! With regret. I wish you all the best.
Nature. Calm. Breakfast.
