The quinta is located down a long dirt track off the road. Took me sometime to get on the correct route. A sign for the quinta would help at the track entrance..

Tranquil location with nice grounds and twittering birds! Stayed in studio which was large and had everything I needed. It was great for my dog who had a chill out break from 3 days travelling from uk. The couple who own it were welcoming and helpful. It would have been nice to stay longer especially as the weather turned hot and they were preparing to open the pool.

The hosts are so friendly and welcoming, it is like being a valued guest in a Portuguese home. The room has a very large and comfortable bed which was perfect for a good night's sleep. We found the room well equipped with facilities for making a drink and rolls, butter and orange juice ready for breakfast. Our dog was made to feel very welcome and the garden was fenced and secure. In the countryside just outside Belmonte and only minutes from the A23 motorway.

We can not think of any negative points as we really enjoyed it all.

Exceptionally pleasant and relaxing atmosphere created by the owners of Quinta de Ribeira. They are genuinely kind and caring people. They have made us feel like at home throughout our staying with them. The location is very nice and quiet. We were lucky living in a very cosy atmospheric cottage, where we had have everything we needed. We enjoyed having our morning coffee and evening meal in the qunta's yard with the spectacular view on mountains. It is very secure and private place. The owners are always available and trying to do their best to make your stay very comfortable. We will definitely come back there and thoroughly recommend this place to everyone.

The farm is in a very small village and need to use very narrow road to arrive. No shops or restaurants within a walking distance. We are used to it but for some people it could be a slight problem.

The farm hidden in the calm place with a big swimming pool and nice garden. The owner was very kindly prepared our room and parking place to have comfortable stay for us ( with problems of leg ). There was a surprise that breakfast was not included but orange juice, cold water butter & cheese in the small refrigerator and bread, coffee, tea, etc…were prepared for us to take next morning. The owners were very nice, responsible and friendly. Our room was a part of the old stone farmhouse. Stone wall was very thick and we almost never used the air conditioner. We will come back!

We had two dogs with us which were not very welcomed by the local dogs. I guess being rural this should be expected?

Location was 5 mins outside Belmonte in a rural and quiet location. Facilities for value for money were superb. Large room with ensuite and very clean Nice pool which we did not have time to use. Our guest were very welcoming and hospitable. Would recommend as a stop over.

The slightly hard mattress with a plastic mattress protector and smallish foam pillows were not very comfortable, but that is a minor drawback that can be improved, and this did not spoil the overall very positive impression.

Very friendly and helpful hosts, a beatiful location with nice views, the room was exactly as was described. The room has a double bed, a toilet with a shower, a small storage room with a fridge, coffee machine, kettle. Some orange juice, fresh bread, jam and grape liqueur, a small table in the room and a small table on the patio were all a nice touch, and we felt very welcome and well looked after. The property is a short drive away from the historic centre of Belmonte. We would happily go back again.

Dogs that would bark at 4 am... I specifically chose this place looking for some quietness but the two nights I stayed there I was awaken by dogs barking non-stop at 4am and then 6 am...

The hosts are very kind and helpful. What a great couple they are! The place is very near Belmonte where there are restaurants and supermarkets.

Our stay was spoilt by the owners ' dogs barking all night. . We could not sleep and having driven all day with more driving to do the next day really needed a good night's sleep. Was a great shame as spoilt an otherwise great stopover

Very old fashioned, like a step into the 1990. I’d like to say “quaint” because of the exposed stones and dim lighting, but the room needs a swift quick into modernity. Lumpy beds and uncomfortable pillows (and for an added quaint rustic touch, a barking dog, all night long) do not for a good night sleep make. Amenities include a bar of soap and a shampoo bottle left over from the days of Salazar. The towels, too, have seen better days. Heck, even the toilet paper was scratchy. The owners are pleasant enough and try their best to be good hosts, but all the pleasantries in the world do not equal a good mattress. If it’s a good night’s sleep you’re after, try elsewhere.
