Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LatviaThe property is in a residental area and is private and calm, which we enjoyed very much! But realistically you need a car to get to and from this place. It's not a big issue, but something to be aware. I would love to come back and stay there again.
The place is like home - spacious, comfortable and with everything you might need for a nice stay. The owners are super nice and welcoming, they greeted us and gave all the details for us to enjoy our stay. All communication was via whatsapp and it was easy to arrange everything. We stayed there for 6 nights and really didn't want to leave - the private pool is nice, they have some pool toys for children, all appliances are there, including washing machine for clothes, which was nice, as we stayed there for a week. I would love to come back and stay there again. The property has 3 separate bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, so it can accompany a large family or group. The kitchen is equipped with a good quality appliances and very comfortable to use. The view from the upstairs terrace is amazing.

United KingdomProbably a bit too big for the three of us, but that's not a fault... at least we were never under each others feet
The property was 'just' far enough from the resorts to be quiet and still easy to get to. If you walk be prepared for a proper uphill walk back. I loved that as it burned off half the calories from the food eaten in the town! Our host and hostess were amazing and nothing was too much trouble.

United KingdomEverything was just perfect. Joyce was a really wonderful host from start to finish. We arrived late and as our hire car didn't accommodate us all, she not only arranged for a local restaurant to serve us food at 10pm but she also drove one of us there. Her breakfasts were superb and I highly recommend booking in for this optional extra. She took such great care of us and was always at hand with information and recommendations. The property itself is outstanding, I don't think the photos do the space justice. The layout of the ground floor and all bedrooms is excellent, there is plenty of storage. The views from the first floor ensuite room are 360 degree panoramic views of the sea. The swimming pool is a very decent size. Although the pool isn't heated, we didn't feel like it needed to be with the summer temperatures. I can't recommend this villa highly enough and Joyce as a wonderful host.

United KingdomFor me the mattress on the double bed was quite firm but that's me been super picky. We did use spare duvets to pad it out though so it was fine. The villa was around 10 mins taxi ride from albufeira centre, golf course and zoomarina (about 7-10euro) each way but we went as a large group of 6 people so splitting the cost was fine. The villa is ideal for a big family holiday which is what we had ❤️
The villa is in a beautiful location, very peaceful and catches alot of sun by the pool, the BBQ pit was well used as was the pool (abit nippy when getting in at first but absolutely fine when going in and out after that with the sun out). Joyce the owner is such a lovely welcoming lady and nothing was too much trouble for her.

United KingdomMattresses were a bit firm for us. The location is fine for walking to Albufeira town or marina during the day (30-40 mins) but not suitable on an evening as it is along the edge of busy roads without pavements. Best with a car or taxis (which are cheap).
This is a really beautiful house. We loved the layout and space of the villa. It is perfect for families with great outdoor space too. The house has everything you need for a great holiday.

Gibraltarto start with it’s not a Villa!! it’s a country house when we arrived the property was not ready and we had to wait till 4pm. then we are told we had to give a £400 deposit incase of any damages (this could have been said before hand as we had to use our spending money) the property owner stayed in a small house attached to the country house and was there most of the time being a little bit intrusive using our parking. she would come over to bring us snacks with the idea of looking around and staying there for a little while giving us instructions as if we were kids. Country house needs an urgent upgrade. we hardly used the pool as we were a little uncomfortable. she used to pop round to water the plants every morning. only bedroom on the top floor and one bedroom with two single beds on the bottom floor had air con the other two bedrooms had a standing fan. will not be staying here again!!
