The WiFi was not the best, but I also didn’t need WiFi.

Toilet was hidden but no door, so not a ton of privacy. Worth it.

Firstly, this is the view Instagram videos of swiss hotels with much higher price tags are made of. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm glad we spent some time enjoying it. And the homemade food was lovely, including orange juice I simply couldn't get enough of. The staff didn't speak English but we're kind to use translation apps to ensure every need was met including dinner (huge, very much a farm stay dinner of hearty dishes). I was a bit done in by travel and too much food at that point so devastated I couldn't do it justice or partake in their own branded wine. The dog on the property was friendly without being pushy. But ultimately, you're here for the room - and it was perfect (toilet comment aside).

There was nothing that we didn't like. We highly recommend Quinta De Calvelos!

Beautiful rural location! One wall of the room looked down to a lake and then mountains rising out of the valley. Just incredible. We arrived late in the afternoon, we may have been the only guests for that night. We asked about dinner, and they said they would make something for us. It was clear that they went out of their way to make dinner for us but they did it with a smile and were so pleasant. The meal was fresh cooked and delicious. Breakfast was great too. Thank you!!!

The room was amazing, with a balcony and a great view of the river, and it was super modern and clean. The breakfast was also great, in a large area overlooking the river, and a great sitting place to have the morning coffee. The staff was also super friendly and kind, making us feel welcome there. Overall a great place to book some quiet days in Gerês.

It would be nice to have freshly brewed coffee from a coffee machine for breakfast.

The view from the windows is absolutely stunning!! We had a room with two glass walls facing the river and the forest from the top of the mountain! Just imagine drinking coffee on the balcony at the top of the cliff! The bed was really comfortable and big, the room had air-conditioner. The breakfast was really good, the restaurant also has glass walls and amazing view. The swimming pool was clean.

Loved everything about this place, but would love to have a Nespresso or great coffee maker in the place. But it did have a tea kettle with instant coffee in the room

First, the owner was so welcoming when we checked in!! The room was so beautifully done and up to date. The bathroom was extremely clean and functional. The best part of the place are the views and location. The views from the room were exceptional. We looked at the mountains and the lake created by the river. The balcony was large and a great place to look out at the view and read a book. The hotel is located on a farm, so it was extremely peaceful and the surroundings were beautiful. The pool is clean with amazing views off of it and great lawn with chairs to lay out. Tons of hiking and biking nearby. I would highly recommend this place and in fact I love it so much that I would plan a trip just to stay here again.

We battled a bit with flies, and it’s expected as we’re in the middle of nature. But nothing that was really annoying. Perhaps it would be good to have an insect net on the windows/balcony doors to allow the natural air through without needing to switch on the A/C. We would also prefer to have a door in the bathroom for privacy.

Paula was a great host, extremely friendly, helpful and willing to tell us about the story of the quinta, their wine and local food. Fátima also provided us with a caring and thoughtful service. The room and breakfast room had a beautiful view of the valley and mountains. Everything worked well in the rooms, the bed was very comfortable and shower had a good pressure. Breakfast had a good mix of items suited for the number of guests, e.g. fruits, homemade cakes, eggs, jams and a variety of types of bread.

Beautiful hotel on a wine yard. The view from our room was absolutely amazing. We booked for 2 nights and extended our stay straight away. We visited in Sep and there was fruit everywhere, which we simply couldn't help to pick off trees and taste. It was an experience we never had as people from a noisy busy city. Also, I left my jewellery in the hotel and the lady posted back to me without any delay. Thank you!

There was no door in the bathroom which made our stay less comfortable. Also as that was not reallyreflected at the pictures we did not expect anything like that.

The view is simply fabulous and breathtaking, facilities are new&clean, hosts are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fine, quite various. The pool is also good.

Our room had a bathroom that was somewhat open concept, and my partner and I would have preferred a door to separate the bathroom from the rest of the room. Not a con of the place but be aware you will need to have a car to get to restaurants and other attractions nearby.

Stunning scenery. Friendly staff. Great wine. Perfect pool space - we spent most of our time relaxing there. Comfortable rooms with A/C and views. Close to outdoor activities like hikes and rivers. Highly recommend.

Take care of the steep path to go up and down to the house by car. To go to restaurant you need car.

Very nice Quinta with good service! The airco of the room we booked was giving a smell and we are presented to move to another room. View of the room on the river was magnificent! Nice breakfast.
