Luis, the owner was very welcoming, helpful with dining, sightseeing tips on our 3 nights stay from May13. Take time to walk around his beautiful, peaceful, paradise of a garden with fruit trees, flowers, pond, awesome treed place. The bedroom. private bathroom ( next to bedroom), equipped kitchen, living room, patio was very spacious, relaxing. Wished we stayed here longer with close proximity to center of Furnas, Lagoa da Furnas and iconic sights. Private free on site parking was a plus, Highly recommend this place. The accomendation itself is certainly a bit outdated and not regularly maintained. Little things like poor internet connection and no insect protection are added. But the price-performance ratio is right!

Luís was very accommodating and friendly. Uncomplicated at check-in as well as with everything else. No other guests were planned for my overnight stay in the small house in the middle of nature. So I could use everything for myself and sit out the storm comfortably. The owner's property is very large and includes a garden. You should have a look at it, the surrounding nature is cared for with a lot of love. Great location, all activities in Furnas are close by.

Minor issue. The beds were smaller and less comfortable than what we are used to by North American standards.

The location was beautiful and our host was warm friendly and extremely kind. During our stay at Pedro’s do Mar the night before our stay at Quinta de Santana, our daughter became violently I’ll after having eaten at Pedros do Mar’s restaurant. Pedros do Mar was unwilling to let us check out late but our host at Quinta de Santana came to our rescue and allowed us to check in early. We cannot thank him enough for his kindness. This speaks to the personal touch offered by an independently run business vs a corporate run hotel. I also appreciated our hosts ability to speak multiple languages. When my Portuguese failed my I could revert to English or French.

Beautiful surrounding of the property with many trees and plants, created by the owners son. The owner who welcomed us was extremely nice and helpful, he shared many tips and gave us recommendations where to go, where to eat. We had a really nice chat with him. He let us leave our bags at the reception after checkout. Furnas is one of the most beautiful areas in Sao Miguel Island, make sure you plan more days there, we only had 1 night there sadly.

It is in a nice (very green) location, just outside the village. No breakfast but within a 5 minutes walk you can get coffee in the morning (after 9 though). Knowledgeable host with lots of information on site too. Recommended

I liked everything about the property.

Tucked away but close to town. The location is excellent. Quiet, peaceful, mixed in with their garden. A well-equipped shared kitchen available to use! Parking available. Laundry service available (extra cost). Luis and his son offer a great, generous, friendly stay. I’ve been gone one day and I miss it already. I will hopefully be back!

The house was very cozy, with a wonderful decoration, an amazing garden and a priceless silence. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. His check-in policy is that you can't access your room until 6 PM, and there is no one there earlier in the day so you can drop off your luggage. I was in Furnas only one night and brought just a backpack. But I had to wear it all day long, and it held a computer and other not-so-light weight items. From pre-arrival communications with the host I was under the impression that I could drop off the backpack upon arrival.

I had the whole place to myself: I was the only guest. I could use the kitchen and living room. I needed to use the living room to get a consistent WiFi connection. In the bedroom it worked some of the time.

Had a great stay. Luis is a great host and he knows how to welcome his guests. Was very impressed by the garden and the lay out / interior of the house. Even though the house is walking distance from almost everything you need to see and do in Furnas, because of the garden it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere. To restaurants and supermarkets it's a 10 minutes walk.

Very nice place in the middle of the nature. Only 5 minutes walk to the thermal baths. The host is very friendly and gave us a lot of recommendations and some fresh tea from the garden.
