Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandStaying at the charming and modern cottage in the vineyard was an absolute delight. Surrounded by serenity and equipped with all amenities including a pool, terrace, and a grill with a breathtaking view, it was truly a haven. The hospitality of the hosts added an extra layer of warmth to the experience, and their thoughtful gesture of a welcome bottle from their own vineyard was much appreciated. It was an unforgettable retreat, and I can't wait to return.

CanadaWe loved the location in the middle of a vineyard. Breakfast food was in the fridge when we arrived and fresh bread delivered each morning. Picked oranges from the tree in courtyard each day, fresh and delicious. Daniel was wonderful, when google maps got us lost about 5 iminutes from the property, we called Daniel and described where we were, he came in his car to guide us to the property. Spent a morning hiking amongst the vines, terrific views.

BelgiumPeople from Quinta do Monte Travesso are exceptional hosts. Very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The Casa da Tilia is a lovely and comfy house to relax and enjoy the calm of the Douro Valley. Wines from the property are delicious, and the tasting + tour is good and instructive as well. We enjoyed the sun, relaxed in the garden and the pool and we left with a feeling of peace and rest.

The whole property is just beautifull. So well mainteined and the interior of the room was very cozy and well thought. The private pool & yard for our kid to play was just awesome. And the VIEWS! You just can't get enough of it! We took the wine tour and it was really good, also very tasty wines. Had to buy couple bottles. Staff very friendly, and discreet.

FranceThe house is private with a fenced garden, perfect for our large dog and was so well stocked with the essentials it easily outlasted our stay, everything you would ever need was provided even a free bottle of wine from the Vineyard. The fresh bread delivery every morning was unexpected. The bed was so comfortable, probably the best bed of our tour of Portugal. The location and the views were just stunning. We plan to go back.

United StatesThe road in and out was a bit hard to locate initially, and also narrow and winding for a little distance. Of course, when you’re in the middle of a working vineyard, that is to be expected and adds to the overall charm.
The setting was beautiful, overlooking the vineyards with a view of hills and mountains in the distance. The guesthouse was very well appointed and suitably rustic for the location, and the surrounding buildings and features were lovely. We loved it and thank the staff for all the touches they added to our stay!

United StatesThe only drawback is finding drinkable water. Maybe we missed it? Also, this is just luck of the draw, but people stay in RVs in the parking lot right beside the cottage, which is no bother other than the loud dog that barked all night.
We wanted a quaint but fulfilling getaway in Douro Valley. We spent part of our honeymoon at this property and are thrilled that we did. The views are incredible. The cottage we stayed in had a kitchenette, a living area with a view and a porch that was hard to leave. This stay requires a drive and the closest restaurants are about a 15-minute drive but if you bring a few items for meals, it simplifies the travel. Anywhere you stay in the “mountains,” a remote experience is expected. We loved Edna, who runs the property.

United StatesI did not like the proximity of the camper vans outside the gate to the entrance of the cottage, on premise. They sleep with their windows/doors open so it lessens the privacy of what we paid for. One night we had to park away from the front due to so many vans, one directly outside the gate. Also I didn't like them walking in front of our see through gate at night. Another night a camper van guy came out and was not nice to us, telling us to move our car we had just parked so he could fit his camper, even though we paid to stay there. I think with a little distance rules it would be perfect.
The location, the view, the hospitality. Everything was phenomenal.

United StatesThis location is amazing, we did a tour of the winery, a tasting of wines and their olive oil. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The pictures don't do it justice. If you are debating 1 or 2 nights, stay for 2. We were sad to leave and wished we could have extended our stay here. We visited 7 different places in Portugal, and this was my favorite place to stay. Relaxing, beautiful, fun. They provided eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt and fresh bread for us to make our own breakfast. It was wonderful.

United Statesnothing bad to say. We were a bit nervous booking a place with no reviews. But we decided to go ahead and book it because the winery itself had great reviews. I’m glad it turned out great!
We had an amazing stay at the Quinta do Monte Travesso house. The place and the views looked even better in person than the pictures. The house was almost brand new, everything super clean. It came well stocked with bread, juice, milk, ham and everything you need to make meals. The owner was very communicative and we were able to schedule wine tasting and meals at the estate.
