Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Indiahad a lot of trouble with the google location and negative experience with the day staff who did not understand english and did not help with the location till the night person Filipe intervened. we were lost on the mountain road for nearly an hour no dinner options nearby
stunning location, vineyards, fruit trees, chapel, walking paths no breakfast included for the cottages, but we found good options at Cafe Sangens in Resende

CanadaWe were sorry we couldn't stay longer.
Everything was perfect down to the smallest details. Our suite was poolside with a door off of every room. Every room had all the comforts of home and more. We had a pool to ourselves since there were few guests mid-week. The breakfast was wonderful. The restaurant was not open for lunch or dinner but Resende was a 7 minute drive with restaurants and grocery stores. The view from any location within Quinta do Outeiro is breath-taking. We found everything was very clean. The staff were so attentive and accommodating for our entire stay. We will definitely visit again.

PortugalThis is a perspective, not necessarily what we did not like about the venue. The manager gave us a good recommendation. There is only one restaurant in the area (the rest are reachable within a 30 mins drive). We received a recommendation for an Italian restaurant in town (we booked and went there, it looked like a nice place). My advice is when you book, ask specifically for a nice table either outside or at the front towards the main windows. When we went there, they gave us some awful seats next to a pillars and the hob, we left as we did not want to sacrifice our experience for some bad seats. One more note: In the future, please put families with kids away from couples wanting a quiet experience.
The location is great, if you choose to spend 2-4 days then it's perfect. The room we took was the perfect size for us, they went above and beyond by allowing us to charge our car (we brought our own charger). The breakfast was a 10/10 amazing, it was 14 EUR but great food and great location. The main swimming pool is great, and walking around the vineyard was such a nice experience.

United KingdomEverything was great
A beautiful period property with a house, with period furniture, converted into apartments of a high quality that is remote from it at the top of the hill. Philippe was extraordinarily helpful and arranged two great trips; first by train along the valley and then to a winery.

United StatesEverything about our stay was amazing. The grounds are just impeccable, and the restoration of the quinta is beyond gorgeous. We traveled with two small children and everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional and a great value and our two bedroom apartment would have been easily enough room for two couples. We would definitely be repeat guests if we lived closer! A couple things of note, when we visited in October there wasn't a restaurant on the property so we had to drive about 10 minutes to find a meal (of course we could have cooked in the lovely kitchen). We loved all the restaurants that were recommended and there are some really good options in the area! It is an easy drive to catch the train to Porto or up river. Finally, for this area the wineries all seemed to require reservations so plan ahead (the hotel staff is more than willing to help).

CanadaThe breakfast was exceptional. The Quintana is beautiful and quite large. Phillip was extremely helpful with information about the Quinta and also restaurants and suggestions of things to do in the town. The Quinta was not doing official tours or wine tastings when we were there.

United StatesMelhor inicio Settembro. Its better to go in September that is less hot than August, It was way too hot in Europe and Portugal during August so probably near the beginning of September would have been better to still go to the river and beach so its not too cold either.
Nos encanto ! Maravilloso! heaven on earth... loved it ! Such a relaxing stay and the home is so charming and welcoming. As if you are staying in your own mansion. We stayed at the main home with our own terrace. The near town of Resende and caldos aregos have some very authentic very good restaurants. We went to the river beach (Praia Fluvial Porto de Rei) and enjoyed the mountain at night with wine and just totally amazing vineyards, also during the day.

Israelthe breakfast consists on bread, jam. sweets, little cheese and warm steamed buns, and that us it more or less. so I can . advise you to cook breakfast for yourself (we cooked our dinners in the kitchen and it was very comfortable) . The washing machine was out of order and the stuff washed our cloths for us
this hotel is nothing like we know. the scenery is so beautiful and peaceful and the houses are a magic combination of old and new. the main house, where you get your breakfast, is down the hill, and the rooms are located in different levels up the hill. we had to get through some stairs to get to our room, but it was worth it - the view of the Douro from our terrace was the best. we thought we booked 2 rooms with 4 beds, but actually got 4 rooms in one building, and by rooms I mean apartments - a bedroom, a living room. a kitchen and a bathroom. we also had a barbeque and a pool outside

United KingdomThe breakfast was great, but it could be helpful to give people some info about it before serving, as some people might have different preferences (e.g. tea vs coffee, decaf vs regular coffee, dietary requirements).
Lovely place to stay, nicer in person than in the photos! Had such a great couple of days here, so relaxing, wonderful views and garden, friendly staff, very comfortable. Great pool too (actually there are three but we just went to the one nearest our room). We also ate dinner both nights we were there at the restaurant- delicious both times and a great setting overlooking the Douro river valley.

IsraelThe rooms are gorgeous and spotlessly clean. The decor is all in period furnishings. The breakfast was high-quality food and tasty as well as served beautifully. They delighted me with a table outside overlooking a spectacular view of the Douro River. Guests are given personalized hospitality to fully experience all that the property offers. The property would be an excellent choice for weddings and events.

United KingdomUnfortunately we had 2 main problems -The hotel stunk of sewage, when we checked in they said they couldn't smell it. It was bad at reception but in my parents room it was almost unbearable. When we checked out the stay was and I explained okay apart from the smell which they then said there had been a sewage leak before the weekend and they couldn't get a plumber for another day. It was so bad I can't understand why they did not cancel our stay or atleast worn us and give us an option to stay elsewhere. -Our booking was a Monday and despite them sending restaurant recommendations it turns out nothing recommended within 30 minutes was open on a Monday. The staff were helpful giving us other places to ring and ask but if a booking is for a Monday and as the staff were the ones that explained everything being closed it would be helpful to know this before we arrive so we could have got food. We had hoped to use the hotel as our wedding venue but would be scared to risk it with the sewage problem and with no communication on it, even denying it at first and no apology.
The setting is beautiful, the scenary cannot be beaten and great wine!
