Lovely owner, interesting history of the house, delicious breakfast and stunning views! It was also very cute to get your own slippers and bathrobe. 😍 The smell in the room was also amazing and it was a big pleasure to stay there and feel like home.

The property is gorgeous, even better than the photos. The exterior is a true highlight, with a functional BBQ area, numerous seating areas, beautiful gardens, cozy hammocks, and areas to lounge by the pool. The interior is spotless, with thought put into every detail. We stayed in the bedroom with the balcony overlooking the vineyards, and it was equipped with everything a guest needs for a comfortable stay. Sara is sooo friendly, gracious, and welcoming— full of great recommendations, travel advice, and fun conversation.

Absolutely perfect accommodation. The host Sara is a lovely person, very helpful and it is visible in every single detail that she does everything with joy and love. The breakfast was amazing - fresh banana milkshake, coffee, scramble eggs, ham and cheese, fresh bread, some homemade cake. The house has swimming pool, relaxing garden and very nice view of the valley. The bedroom was also very comfortable. Highly recommend.

It was very comfortable, clean and the shared living room was amazing! We felt like staying with family. The area around the pool was excelent to have a meal, look at the surrounding area or just relax and read a book like we did, and also having a good swim before retiring for the night. The host Sara is amazing! She took very good care of all her guests, always with a bright and warm smile. Next time we will stay longer.

What a wonderful host! We enjoyed staying at Sarah’s place in Alijó. The quiet beauty of the house and all the small things she adds to make her guests comfortable are wonderful! Sara is a warm and welcoming host, incredibly personable and attentive. Her place is very clean and quiet and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful! We did not get to use the pool - still to early in the year. Definitely recommend!

Sara was an amazing host and the place is an absolute dream. From the road the house is easy to miss but once you walk through the gate it is like entering a secret garden..an oasis of tranquility. The breakfast is freshly prepared and delicious, the views are amazing and the atmosphere that Sara creates for her guests is like a home away from home. Highly recommend.

We we awakened every night by barking dogs nearby so just be aware.

The location and especially the views were wonderful! The location is on the edge of town but close enough to walk to several restaurants. Sara and staff were so wonderful and we loved having breakfast out by the pool. We had a large room, large bathroom and balcony for enjoying the views.

I think it would be bad ju-ju to say anything negative about our sweet host and her BnB. She's the best! Ok, the mattress could perhaps use a topper - but it wasn't bad. . . And the local dog chorus (not in her control) was hard to tune out at night. Perhaps a white noise machine? Earplugs? I should have brought mine but forgot them, so that's bad on me.

Sara, our host, was worth the trip to Alijo, and we would go out of our way to stay with her in this beautiful region again. She is helpful, personable, genuine and intelligent. Her homemade breakfast was a delight and her welcome always warm. We felt very much at home and would visit again. She is a gem. Her home is a warm and loving place to relax in and Alijo was good as a base to enjoy the Douro Valley region.
