A bit old fashion building/keys. The entrance to the place was somewhat difficult to find. You need a car to get here.

Everything was great. Rosa and Luis were such kind hosts, the breakfasts each morning were superb, the garden was magnificent, parking on site made this so easy, and the facilities were all just lovely. There is not much you can reach by walking. You need to use your car every day. But this is small detail compared to the rest.

Rosa and Luis are outstanding hosts. They are providing excellent service to their gests. From an amazing breakfast to very useful sightseeing recommendations. As soon as you pass the gate to this place you feel like in another world. Everything in this historic place is maintained very well, there is a lot of space in the the huge garden and the atmosphere is very relaxing.

We needed a car to drive into Viana all the time. It wasn't possible to walk to anywhere eg. bars, restaurants, beaches etc.

The hosts are kind and attentive. The breakfast is excellent. Lots of fresh fruit, rolls, meats and cheese with freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. Rosa and Alberto were most helpful, pleasant and a delight to talk with. Very informative about Viana and it's surroundings. They could not do enough for you to help your stay feel restful and at home.

The location is awkward in terms of driving but this was not a major problem.

Driving through the gates and you are immediately in a setting of vines and flowers . Then greetings from Rosa, the kindly owner who carefully takes time to show you around . This is a treasure of a place, where attention to detail is quietly is taken seriously . The breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit from the garden . If you want to relax and unwind there can’t be a better place . We found it hard to leave .

We were happy with everything!

We liked so many things about Quinta do Vale do Monte....the house and grounds are so beautiful and well kept and there are gorgeous plants and flowers everywhere. It is exceptionally clean and the rooms are very pretty and traditional. We had a lovely sitting area off the bedroom and there was a fridge and kettle there which were both very handy. The breakfasts were amazing, fresh fruit and bread, eggs done in different ways, local meat and cheese and yoghurts. The Quinta is a very peaceful place which is well tucked away and the pool is a lovely place to sit on a hot afternoon. It is set in a beautiful area and Viana is a lovely city with lots to see and do and great fish restaurants. Perhaps the best thing about the Quinta are the wonderful hosts Rosa and Luis Alberto. They take such good care of their guests and always have good suggestions of where to visit. We would love to go back one day!

A beautiful gem hidden in a gated estate a few minutes from Viana do Costelo. Great pool and garden full of wild flowers! And the owners Rosa and Luis Alberto are absolutely lovely! Always helpful and there if you need anything. But the best part is the breakfast . We were seated in a private room with a full menu and the best homemade desserts!! Absolutely recommend this place!!

This was our first holiday in Northern Portugal after many years on the Algarve so we found there is much to see! We loved Quinta do Vale do Monte! It's an old style Quinta and the gardens are stunningly beautiful. The pool is lovely and a decent size. Rosa and her son Luis are amazing hosts and really look after their guests with a personal touch. They went over and above to help us have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Rooms are spacious and clean. The house is beautifully kept and wonderful to stay in. The breakfasts are amazing, more than we could eat! A great selection of breads, cereal eggs, fruit and cold meats. Viana do Castelo is a beautiful town on the coast, well worth a visit historically and culturally. Highly recommend and we would love to return!
