From the moment we arrived at Hotel Republica we felt welcomed despite being hot and dishevelled from a big day of hiking. This was one of the most friendly receptions we have had during our two weeks in Portugal. Nothing was too much trouble, including room service provided early from the Restaurant Menu when the All Day Menu was not available. We requested an extra night and again, no problem at all. Breakfast options at the restaurant were exceptional and the service, equally as good. The coffee machine in the room was awesome, the beds luxurious and the bathroom stylish and clean. The minibar was well stocked and an abundance of room snacks were available.

Fabulous location in the heart of Tomar - public car park is super close (but try and travel with minimal luggage to carry to hotel) We had a wonderful stay here, we were kindly upgraded to a suite room and it was simply beautiful! Cannot fault this hotel and will definitely return here when we come back to this area.

The small things count, breakfast, the hot food section of the breakfast was in a beautiful Bain Marie which was unfortunately not turned on and subsequently all hot food was very cold. During breakfast one of the staff decided to use a very strong smelling cleaning product in the dining room which was completely unnecessary.

Very well appointed and central to all attractions very friendly and knowledgeable staff very good facilities very good selection at breakfast although improvements could be easily made.

The location was great, but the staff were the highlight. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful. Also, since we're were traveling by car, the parking was a real bonus.

The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom and shower. The hotel is located in the middle of the main square and is walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Parking was very convenient in a nearby secure parking lot for €6 per day. The staff were all so friendly and helpful.

My best experience in Portugal in the last 15 years. This hotel is a diamond in a medieval town, in the historic centre on the town square. The soundproofing is perfect, and I had the best breakfast of my life, with a variety of fresh products. The restaurant is very good with very affordable prices. The staff is amazing.

We felt lucky to have such excellent accomodations directly on the historic town plaza. Very well run hotel. They also host walkers on the Camino which is good.

Sat nav got confused, parking was difficult to find. Just didn’t expect quirky street layout. All good in the end!

Very central, great staff. Lucky enough to meet the proprietors and understand the ethos. Stunning rooms and great restaurant. Had the dorado which was cooked perfectly. On the main square but parking close by. Help with luggage was offered and gratefully accepted. The tip to see the Convent of Christ after checkout was worth. Go early to miss the crowds. It’s quite exceptional.
