The place would definitely benefit from some renovation (both for the look and comfort and functions). Rooms are smaller than they look on the photo, but generally they are fine size. Doors and windows open a bit difficult, or difficult to close/lock them once finally opened: these I would definitely suggest to fix the soonest for safety.

Great price-value ratio, with nice view and super nice staff. It is in a more local, residential area, so calmer than downtown. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful, with many suggestions on what to do, and daily logistics (bus, transfer, etc.).

Weird smell in the whole hotel. Not properly cleaned (a lot of dust under beds, previous visitors left tea in a kettle and nobody cleaned it, etc.). Ordinary breakfasts, expected more diversity.

The residence is a bit old, but with a lot of potential and a creazy view on the ocean, it would really benefit a refresh. The was a bit of dust in the room, especially in the bed frame and my allergy went crazy.

Staff is really nice and helpful. Position is also quite good, just 10/15 minutes walking to the city center. Breakfast was fine and american coffe quite good.

There is only a fridge and a microwave in the living room. No kitchen equipment. Dark rooms. There are no vegetables for breakfast.

Purely my personal preference, the bed/mattress was too hard for me but it wouldn't put me off staying here again

What a lovely place to stay and feels like a real home from home. Everyone was so genuinely friendly and welcoming, my room was nice with a great shower and breakfast was really tasty and plenty of it. Location is great, it's in a residential area but only 15 mins or so walk down to the city centre, buses and Avenida do Mar. All in all this was a great value perfect place to stay for my mini break in Madeira!

The views were great, although I had to climb uphill to get to the hotel. The place was really clean, but each time during the cleaning my things were moved into some other place. Not everyone likes it.

It is worth noting that the hotel is located high on a hill.

This hotel is very homelike and the staff was very friendly and gave us many good tips for travelling around Madeira. The rooms were quiet and had everything needed and also breakfast was good. I truly recommend!

The room was very small, quite humid and didn’t have any daylight, yet this was compensated with the price for the room and the different outdoor and indoor common spaces that guests are allowed to use.

Very good value for money in Funchal. The staff was super nice and friendly and everything you need is in walking distance. There is a fridge where you can put your own things, a nice terrace and lounge.

There is a very steep hill to walk every time - but the views are worth it. Our room was pretty small and had a window to a backyard but I mean, it's okay.

The staff is extremely nice and friendly, always willing to help you. The view from the common balcony is AMAZING, truly worth it to book this hotel! The balcony is big and has tables, chairs, and two sunbeds so it is a nice place to chill. Enjoyed my stay a lot and would come here again if I was in Funchal.

It's not a fancy hotel, for sure, but it's great value for money. You have everything you need, staff is extremely nice and helpful with organizing transport etc. Outdoor area is nice.

The shower was not ideal and room was fairly small.

The location was very great and central. Easy 10-15 minute walk to the center of Funchal. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially Patricio. He gave us tips and planned our transportation. He also helped with any questions we had and made the best homemade poncha.

The place can be found near the centre of Funchal, in a quiet street. It's on a hillside so it's a nice walk up there but worth it. The couple who owns the place is extremely friendly and helpful. They completed all our requests. Breakfast was fine and substantial. There is a huge living room where we could sit during the evenings and there is a great terrace, too. During the last day we could leave our suitcases there until our journey back.

The handshower worked terrible, it needs to be replaced, also the shower curtain was annoyingly glueing to the body.

The room was often very cold, though it may be an individual experience. However, they offered electric heating for the room.

The receptionist managed to find a good transfer from Airport and a car for rent for a good price. Right after arrival, he pointed out tips for good restaurants and bars. The room was good for the price and ideal for travellers spending time outdoors. The location is close to the centre of Funchal, though in a steep hill (but what isn't on Madeira). Parking was never a problem.
