How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Small room with bathroom.
Very good location to approach down town. Near to Lupa metro station. Restaurants are 10 minutes walking distance. Kettle in the room.

The location of Hotel Mira D`Aire were very good. It was not to long of a walk into the center of Porto. The staff was very kind and helpful.

Not a very convenient location due to almost no parking to check in. Parking $15/ night a half block away, narrow streets with much traffic.
Staff saw our heavy bags and changed our room to a lower floor.

Wifi was bad. In general it's ok but the room seems outdated and not so cosy. Seemed a bit expensive for what it was, but of course it was August and the location is nice.

Old-style hotel in a quiet location but within walking distance of all main attractions. The hotel staff were helpful and offered maps and answered my questions. Only stayed one night due to going to airport

I was OK but some might find the entrance stairs a problem.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. The building and furniture had character. It was quite roomy for Porto.

Beautiful old-style hotel in a quiet location. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful and offered maps and answered my questions. This was a nice peaceful location and I got a good night's sleep. It is not too far from the city centre too

Real orange juice for breakfast would be better.
Very quiet, peaceful hotel with lots of charm. Spacious rooms, very clean. Hotel is close to modern center of Porto. Need transport for older persons to go to historical center. Breakfast was plentiful with good choices. Parking near by at 400m at end of street that was safe and convenient as well as good value at 15€ for 24 hours.

Moldy smell of a genuine ancient house. Opening the fridgerator will make your trp memorable. Shower drains do not drain. If internet is not needed then ok. Take your own towels if want clean ones

We had some issues with the shower temperature particularly on our first night when it wouldn't heat up. We alerted the staff and they tried their best to resolve however we did have to shower in other unoccupied rooms. The temperature did get warm enough to use by our last day however not nearly as warm as the other showers we had used.
Great quiet location but within walking distance of all main attractions, bars, restaurants etc with a few great restaurants and a supermarket nearby also. Staff were very friendly and helpful with some issues we had with the shower and were very accommodating. Comfortable bed with plenty of pillows.

wi fi doesn’t work on the third floor and always disconnects. no rubbish bins outside the bathroom. bathroom needs fixing.

Simple small hotel, but if you are looking for hotel not so far from city center it is a good ratio between price and quality. Grocery store was close.

This a beautiful home converted into a small hotel and retains all that is good about staying in a beautiful home. I have had to stay in modern hotels as part of my work and I find them over heated and stuffy I found this hotel very comfortable and I will defiantly stay there if I go back to Porto. I will that it may not suit everybody but I enjoyed my stay.

location was some distance from the city center. the walk downhill was not difficult, but retuning uphill after a full day was long and hard. Other option was the subway, but the station was a ways away from the hotel. Parking was a bother. You have to park in a basement garage some way away. Too far to carry baggage uphill.
Very quaint and clean. staff was very courteous and helpful.

The parking was about 300 m away. There was no glasses in the room, but we got some when asked from reception.
Breakfast was OK. Reception was helpful.

Basement room smelled like mildew. And the shower door leaked. Other rooms may be in better shape.
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is super convenient to everything.
